…for those I may have neglected to email my personal gratitude for hitting the tip jar. I have been a little slipshod lately because of flying back and forth to NY. Email seems to “vanish” betwen laptop and desktop like… um… a candidate’s military records. Again, my heartfelt thanks.
Special thanks and an apology…

There’s $2,865 currently from this blog in the Spirit of America blog competition. Impressive.
I found the blog totals in the competition, and this site is well ahead in first, with second place at only $400. Of the total raised (over $3,500), more than 2/3 has come from this site. Very impressive, but also a little disappointing. I thought the overall total would be in five figures. Not sure why the donations mostly come from here, particularly when there are some high traffic sites such as LGF participating. Maybe Instapundit needs to get involved.

The SoA page says fundraising will run from 1DEC – 15DEC, so maybe we are just a bit early. Note the date format: I did learn something from Rathergate.
Roger, in reference to your email missing between your laptop and desktop computer, you probably already know this but just in case not, there is a setting to leave your email on the email server.
Correct me if I am wrong, but it sounds like you are checking your email with the laptop while you are on the road. Then when you get home and check your email with the desktop, the emails have disappeared. That is because they were downloaded to your laptop and taken off the email server at your ISP.
Depending on how you want to work it, you might want the laptop set to leave email on the server and leave the option blank on the desktop.
The setting is found, in Outlook, under “Tools”, “Accounts”, “Properties”, “Advanced tab”, “Delivery” at bottom of the page.
That way the laptop will leave your email on the server untill you check your email with the desktop.
Of course, you can set both to leave your email on the server so all your emails are available to both computers.
Bear in mind there is a time limit, which you can set, and you might want to check how much email storage space you have. Your internet service can help with that.
Sorry if you already know this or do not use Outlook.
