    I read something (Arab news?) about Saudi Arabia now mandating English be taught a/o the sixth grade. The article was on the demand for tutors because of this.

    Of course this is a ‘good thing’. But my emotional reaction to this was one of being at a disadvantage. Especially on the internet where nobody know who’s reading.

    Can you imagine if future al Qaeda members all spoke and understood English? How many years do you think it’ll take to win this thing?
