What Happened to the October Surprise?
Every now and then this past Spring and Summer, someone would bring up the specter of an “October surprise.” There we’d be in the last weeks of the election cycle and bang! out would come some startling revelation about Mitt Romney. Maybe he sacrificed that dog he carried on the roof of his car in some hitherto unknown religious ceremony. Maybe, as was revealed about George Bush early in November 2000, he was caught driving suspiciously slowly after a few too many beers. Who knows?
But as the weeks and months have worn on talk of an October surprise seems to have subsided.
Until today.
By one of those cosmic conjunctions the sage Carl Jung would doubtless make a lot of, I had not one but two encounters with the idea of an October surprise. The first was while chatting with a politically mature friend this morning. I pointed out that Obama’s campaign seemed to be visibly disintegrating by the day. He acknowledged the remarkable sea change in the fortunes of the campaigns and even allowed that my long-standing prediction that Romney would win (and win big!) might after all turn out to be correct. “But,” he added, “if things look really bad for Obama going into the final week or so, they will think of something to spring.”
Spring what, exactly?
That of course remains to be seen, but it was was just an hour or two later that my friend sent me a link from The Daily Caller, based on a Tweet from the Drudge Report, speculating that Gloria Allred “will soon ‘make a move’ to affect the presidential election.” It was Ms. Allred, recall, who dug up news of Herman Cain’s amatory indiscretion, a revelation that pushed him out of the presidential race last Spring, just as it was Ms. Allred who discovered and publicized the news that Meg Whitman, then running for governor of California, had an illegal immigrant housekeeper in her past. Bye, bye, Meg!
Who knows what sordid stories Gloria Allred has been attempting to conjure? She remained coy. “I have no comment at this time,” she said. “I don’t discuss meetings with potential clients.” Well, well. How… discreet of her. Maybe she’s been re-reading Conan Doyle’s A Study in Scarlet hoping to find a Romney connection to the grisly Mormons recounted in that early Sherlock Holmes caper.
Who knows what dirt Gloria Allred is running her hands through. I suspect that neither Mitt Romney nor Paul Ryan provides a profitable hunting ground for scandal, but who knows? Maybe Paul Ryan was mean to a high school chum? Maybe Mitt Romney forgot to take out the trash? Whatever Gloria Allred comes up with, I’d wager it won’t be any more scandalous than Bardell v Pickwick.
Which is not to say that Team Obama — with or without the collaboration of a surrogate like la Allred — won’t spring an October surprise of some sort. My friend thought, and I am inclined to agree, that if a surprise is sprung, it will not revolve around any foibles Messrs. Romney or Ryan may exhibit. Nor will it, at this late stage, be likely to have anything to do with the economy. No, the most likely scenario is a foreign adventure of some sort — and something more dramatic than another drone attack. Maybe the administration will suddenly discover some plausible culprits for the murder of Ambassador Chris Stevens and his three colleagues in Libya. Maybe Obama will decide to bomb or invade Syria. Or maybe Iran will be the recipient of what the administration a year or so back was calling “kinetic activity.” Who knows?
If Romney’s momentum stalls — which I doubt, but if it does — nothing will happen. But if after Monday’s debate there is further disintegration of our Potemkin President and Ohio and Pennsylvania (to say nothing of New Hampshire, Colorado, Nevada, and Pennsylvania) edge further into the Romney camp, then watch out. The game is up for Obama.
It’s up, that is, short of a deus ex machina in the shape of some manufactured surprise, be it in late October or early November (when many October surprises seem to happen). When I ask myself what an effective surprise might be, I confess I am stumped. I would have said that things had gone too far, that Obama’s record, foreign as well as domestic, was such an unrelieved litany of failure that competent, dynamic, and ostentatiously decent men like Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan would just sail into the White House.
That, in fact, is what I’ve thought would happen for months. I am all the more confident about it now. I freely confess, however, that my experience of Alinskyite treachery is minimal. I continue to believe that Mitt Romney will win, but I think my friend is right that Team Obama will go to virtually any lengths to seize the election. I am trying to think low. I just hope that I am thinking low enough to account for the Chicago, you-bring-a-knife-to-the-fight-I-bring-a-gun tactics that Obama has bragged about pursuing. He means to win, I have no doubt about that. As of this writing, however, I believe that the United States has not yet descended to full banana-republic. Elections are not that easy to corrupt, at least on the scale necessary to throw a presidential election.
Don’t get me wrong: I’d put nothing past the Obama administration. The question is, what can they put past us? Not enough to win, I think. Let’s see if I’m right.
I’ve been waiting for this too, most likely a day or two after the last debate to blunt the impact if Romney does well. With early and mail voting underway in some states, and soon in most, the advantage of waiting until the last minute is minimized. Romney should have time to respond, but the media will try to knock him off message for a few days.
I don’t think it will be a military action, it would be seen as a too cynical “Wag The Dog” moment and backfire with a public weary of Mideast entanglements.
My guess is that they’ll try to trot out something else from his business career they haven’t used yet hoping it’s serious enough to gain traction. If Romney can rebut the claim, Obama will be seen as desperate and be finished.

I truly think that Obama believes that he will win the election, no matter the polls or what his advisers are saying. The man is overflowing with narcissism, thought he won the first debate right after, not sure he thinks he needs to do anything over-the-top to win. He believes his own hype to a major fault!
I disagree. Obama is going to win. Let me tell you why.
First, let me say that in principle, I have nothing against Romney . He has many sterling qualities and would make a fine president. Whatever plans he may have for the country are just as workable as what Obama may have. Whatever is going to transpire in the US and the world in the next 10 years is going to happen regardless of who is in the White House – in the same way that 9/11 happened regardless of who the sitting president might have been.
The crucial difference between O and R is not their party affiliations – an outside foreign observer would have a hard time distinguishing fundamental differences between the two. The real difference is that Obama is a child of the 60s while Romney isn’t. Romney seems to have grown up in and seems to represent America as it was in the 50s. He appears as almost a caricature of that time. Obama is his radicalized 60s counterpart.
And that is why Obama is going to win. Put another way – and simply put – Romney largely represents an America that no longer exists. He seems almost irrelevant in early 21st century America…..like coming across a Dick Tracy comic book in a used book store.
Our host here, Mr. Kimball, has long warned us of the corrosive influence that the 60s has had on American life – that what was once considered outrageous now passes as commonplace and so on. How right he has been. Most Americans – not the influential, but most – now identify with Obama and his world-view. I think Americans are fed up with the 60′s “freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose” crowd, once & for all.
Watching the 60′s crowd spit on our military, protests, riots, sabotage, and seeing it manifest again, I think most of us are delighted to see an honest to goodness wholesome man speak up for us and defend this country.
Perfect? No, he’s not, but Romney is a lot closer to American values that Obama can ever hope to be. I for one will not mind being swept back to a more disciplined, less freakish time.
One of the things we must do is keep congress in our sights at all times. Conservatives have become lazy. Time to change that.
Also, relieve hollywood of any influence over the country. Stop watching their ‘entertainment’, especially if you’re paying for it.
Confront the media whenever possible and call them out over lies and ‘doctored videos.’
Social media has given us something we haven’t had in a long time. A voice. Use it. Teach the young our history, tell the truth. Sooner or later it does sink in.

If I was a kid today, I’d never ride. It’s just too much work! When I think back on the most fun I ever had as a kid, my parents woulda’ been arrested today! And we wonder why these kids are fat!

On the other hand, bear in mind the Jesuit aphorism which is variably quoted but frequently stated as, “Give me the child until he is seven, and I will show you the man.” He is thus in very many ways a child of the sixties, though not in the sense that the term is usually understood.

Not so. Surveys show that the plurality of Americans identify as conservative, with most of the rest being moderate or centrist. Not long ago, the plurality identified as moderate/centrist, so the tide is shifting AWAY FROM, not TOWARD Obama’s world view.
It’s going to be fun imagining you eat those words along with a healthy dollop of crow on the morning of November 7 while the rest of us bask in the glow of President-elect Romney.

Signs where I live are that there is a resurgence of interest in the fifties, “retro” it is called. I see it in the college town where I live. Girls are wearing dresses and acting like “young ladies”, at least in public. Peddle pushers, or something like it, are back. And there is interest among the young in Paul Ryan, who looks like one of them. Yes, there still are goths and hippies around, but they are not the new wave. I haven’t seen any Obama stickers around, well maybe one or two at the Episcopal Church parking lot, but Romney/Ryan is holding its own against them, unlike McCain of old. Actually there are very few stickers of any persuasion here and there doesn’t seem to be nearly so much interest in the election as in 2008, it is quiet as a graveyard here.
Without Obama, who is going to sue an American state over immigration? Without Obama, what jobs will people with a pathological hatred and even fear of white people like Melissa Harris-Perry and Michael Eric Dyson have? If anything, maybe sanctuary enclaves that ignore federal immigration laws will be sued, not that I think the GOP has that type of courage left – but they might. Welfare might take a nose dive as well as stupid immigration policies that import people regardless of the unemployment figures.

How wrong you are. That America may not exist in the coastal cities. But in the rest of America, we are still here. And we vote.

Pied Piper, your theory about Romney and his views not representing a majority of Americans, whereas Obama’s sixties’ sensibilities do, is faulty. Increasing numbers of young Americans are “returning” to the view that stable, two-parent families matter — given that many of them have suffered in single-parent homes — that honesty matters, that jobs and employment matter, that politicians’ too often giving away their hard-earned money to people who have no intention of working for a living isn’t such a good idea.
Young people are smarter than you think. And, so is Romney. Obama, on the other hand, isn’t as smart or hip as he, the media, or you think.

I disagree. Two direct results of the 60s, prevalent in ALL these “generations” are
1. “single moms” which have now been elevated to the status of untouchable Madonnas whereas at one time (the 50s) they were considered practically harlots and were locked up in attics or basements until it could be figured out what to do with them.
And 2. Deep in “school debt”. The idea that going into debt to the tune of tens of thousands just to get a degree is a direct result of 60s thinking that “someone else will take care of it”.
Although I have no love of the 60s generation, there is little doubt that subsequent generations have been getting dumber and dumber to the point they resemble Dodo birds these days. (Benghazi? What movie was he in?)
Another symbol of the 60s is the V sign with your fingers, signifiying, I guess, victory. It is now used worldwide. I’ve even seen pictures of Putin using it (although I believe it was Churchill that originated it).
Obama’s victory 4 years ago signaled the triumph of the “Long March through the Institutions”. Of course, no one dreamed that the ultimate institution was going to be the White House.
His victory 3 weeks from today will confirm that the norms of the 60s have fulfilled their destiny.

At some point every budding dictator has to pull out the stops, declare martial law, and grab all the reins of power. I’m not saying it’s a likely scenario, but it’s an increasingly possible one. All it really needs to succeed is for the citizens to be shocked into inactivity for a week or two. “We’ve established that an election wouldn’t be optimal at this time, but let me be clear, there will be an election as soon as conditions allow.”
In the _extremely_ unlikely event of Obama attempting to cancel/ignore
the presidential election/results it is not a spontaneous citizen’s revolt

I also fear the prospect of martial law. Obama is a Marxist-Leninist. Lenin, as the leader of the Russian Revolution in the early 1900s, executed a coup from the top. He seized the reigns of power by the early taking control of the telegraphers and the telegraph and telephone system. Obama recently signed an executive order allowing the president to seize control of the internet in the event of a national emergency. What did he have in mind?
Just imagine having no internet. Yes, no Facebook and other such nonsense. But, also no online banking or bill paying. No conservative alternative to the main stream media. Just imagine returning to three or four major television networks only, each broadcasting dear leader, Obama, for several hours each day.
We are so close to such a scenario, in order to maintain sanity, I force myself not to think about it.

My Patient Husband, an expert in computer systems and networks says there is no way they could put a kill switch on the internet, even if they tried. They could knock out portions of it for a short time.
It was actually designed as part of the military communications network in case of communist invasion.

Martial Law will not be the USURPERS solution to do that he would need a internal National Security crisis. But in my opinion this will only happen AFTER he loses and of that I am certain. That has been planned for. If it hasn’t been censored, 40 million riflemen are available. The US Army is less then half a mill, IIRC. All the Armies in the world combined total about 4 million. So if 25% of the hunters going hunting this year decide to cut Bambi some slack, That is still more then enough.
This won’t be like the last civil war. Those riflemen won’t bother the Army if the Army doesn’t bother them. They will be hunting the Establishment. For the most part, the red states feed the blue states. That will stop.

But that’s just the point. If they didn’t get to vote in this election, what on God’s earth makes you think they will support the person who denied them that? Even if **every single one of them** would otherwise have gone into the polling place and walked back out again without casting their lot, having that choice removed from them would enrage them. He could never trust the military after that, and a military you can’t trust isn’t one that will keep you in power when you’ve just finished trashing your nation’s Constitution.
Bear in mind that in the American Civil War, there was great fear that if the men in the field were allowed to vote, they would go en masse for the candidate who would end the war and bring them home. That’s not how it turned out.
The best October Surprise of all would be if the ballot were completed by mail before election day, with all registered voters accounted for and a crushing Romney victory.

Any sort of combat involving modern aircraft it is the Electronic Warfare that matters the most. Things move too fast for human reflexes to hit. A weapon has to be radar guided to hit. No radar lock means no hits. Once in a blue moon Haji will get lucky and then there is always the chance of a pilot getting stupid. No American aircraft will be shot down because of the skill of the Syrians OR their Russian ‘helpers’. Russian spend their money on the wrong things. I have no idea how Mormons feel about poker, but I would bet that Romney would make a far better poker player than Obama. I feel confident that their team is well aware of the tricks likely to be played.
I don’t claim to know much about campaigns, but Romney’s seems to have been extremely well-run. They seem to know how to take fire, hold their ground, and (at last!) when to shoot. A lesser campaign (or candidate) would have crumpled given the fact that they are fighting two enemies- Obama and the media. They’re very professional. I think whatever Obama tries at this late date will ricochet back onto him.

It is impossible to believe that Team Obama or anyone else has anything on Romney or Ryan that they haven’t already used. They are down to campaigning about Big Bird, binders, and “Romnesia” already; if they had any dirt it would have been used by now.
The only foreign adventure that might actually help Obama could be a strike against Iran’s nuclear capacity in concert with Israel, but that goes against Obama’s core beliefs. He wouldn’t speak about democracy in 2009 when the Persian Spring was in the streets. He won’t draw a line in the sand for the mullahs. I don’t believe he would ever agree to an attack.
That leaves a daring arrest or assassination of the leaders involved in the Benghazi attack. I doubt it will be enough, but it’s about the only card left to play.

The only way to make that even partially work would be to announce the deal just before the Foreign Policy Debate — and not release *any* details until later. The whole debate could be consumed with the President issuing vague assurances that the crisis was handled and Governor Romney trying to critique it without knowing the details.
Meh. Still pretty transparent — and I’d trust Romney to be able to make the case that previous similar deals (North Korea) have ended badly — and the President’s track record in the Middle East (Libya, Egypt, Syria…) doesn’t inspire much confidence.

That’s actually an interesting thought. Suppose the SEIU/ACORN types orchestrated massive riots across major US cities the day before the election. (if it was apparent O was going to loose). The riots could be blamed on “flash mobs organizing through social media” allowing Obama to take control of the internet via his previous executive order. Then he simply declares that it’s “not an optimal time” for an election of something like that and cancels them or holds them but issues martial law that prevent people from voting. Many in the media might go along with it, and with no internet it would be hard for news of the truth to spread. The possibilities are interesting but pretty far fetched.
As far as reality goes though I would not be surprised to see riots in several major cities if O goes down. If you live in one, I’d suggest buying ammunition just in case.

It is not physically possible to take control of the internet. All he could do was slow it down. Iran, China, Syria, Russia, et. al. have tried to stop the web and failed. Computers ‘talking’ to each other was an idea that Xerox developed to sell more copiers. DARPA expanded on that commercial effort to produce a command and control system that would survive a massive nuclear exchange.
If two computers survive, they will be able to communicate. The only weakness is electricity. Taking down the power grid will hurt a network. Not destroy it.

A terrifying possibility (and maybe the one most likely to work) would be for Obama to cut a deal with Iran where they swear up and down they’re giving up their nuclear program and agree to allow UN inspection etc. Basically on the surface cave to every demand the west has. Of course, who knows what Obama would have to promise them in secret, and of course they could renege on the deal the day after the election, but the Iranians know that Obama will never go after them, and that Romney may very well. At least they know Romney will actually support Israel and that gives them a very strong incentive to throw this election. I would look for the deal to be announced either right before the foreign policy debate, or a day or two before the election.
Wasn’t the 7.8% unemployment the October Surprise?
Someone in CA went to an awful lot of trouble, and several someones at the BLS closed their eyes and ran with the blatantly false number.
Sure, it didn’t have a big kick — primarily because it didn’t confirm a slowly growing suspicion people had. No one, outside of the Obama administration and the First Lady, had a sneaking suspicion that the economy was really booming and the numbers just weren’t showing it.
But there’s no way that a claim that every single unemployed person in California suddenly found work in the fourth week of September passed the smell test long enough to make it into the official BLS numbers without quite a bit of collusion. (Heads need to roll when President Romney takes office…)
The gain by last minute “October surprise” is undone by two things:
1) Voting has been going on for about a month in many places in swing states. If you wait until the last minute for a surprise, there’s no way for all those people in Ohio to take back their vote.
2) “October Surprise” only works if its a surprise. If everyone is expecting it( and everyone is) it becomes “October Gimmick” and it makes you look like a weak fool for using it.
I think a Reichstag fire is more likely than an October Surprise at this point. Romneycare and Bain Capital were already dealt with during the Primaries. The Obama campaign shot their bolt with the 47% clip, and have been reduced to harping on about Big Bird and “Romnesia”.
A national security or economic crisis, however, might give O the cover to do something drastic. Communist China holds our debt, the border is open, Obama has the killswitch on the internet; there are any number of threats to America’s popular sovereignty.
Here is what I think it is, if the smudged papers prove anything; its taxes. And guess what it will show? Romney paid taxes because he is really really rich. I can’t think of anything else it could be.

I’m afraid that for many committed leftists, the ends justify the means – any means. The truly scary ones aren’t those whose primary interest is their own personal power, like Allred, but those who believe it’s a moral imperative to defeat Romney – as these zealots come to realize that Romney will probably win, they’re going to be driven to act, in ways large and small.
A minor example – a relative, a physician at a nursing home, told me of a nurse badgering Alzheimer’s patients into signing absentee ballots and in just the past few days, I’ve seen a sharp increase in disappearing and vandalized Romney signs. As the polls have gotten worse, the zealots are growing increasingly worried.

Although I’m pro-life, I would not be dissuaded from voting for Romney if an issue like this came up — if I could vote. I’m Canadian.
In addition to the Mormon angle in Conan Doyle’s ‘Study in Scarlet’, there is a Holmes’ villain who very much resembles Ms. Allred. That would be Charles Augustus Milverton, from the short story of the same name. The master blackmailer was certainly one of Holmes’s most odious villains.
There isn’t much difference between exposure for partisan political gain and blackmail. And eventually, blackmailers get what is coming to them. It was true in Milverton’s case, and will no doubt be true for Ms. Allred as well.

Here’s some food for though- what if the reason the Obama campaign is pretty much imploding is due to those with any talent trying to distance themselves from Barry? If he loses (and I’m sure he will), expect Barack to be rhetorically torn to bits by the media. Which means those in the campaign will be more interested in recovering their credibility after a loss than in actually winning. Thus, the feeling that they’re just going through the motions.
If I were a betting man, i would wager that the Allred trash coming out Monday is related to Harry Reid’s unsubstantiated allegations against Romney: some prior year’s income tax returns.
The two questions I have are simply these: how did she get hold of them, and were they legally obtained?

Allred is going to trot out a woman who claims When Romney was her Bishop he threatened to excommunicate her (Or whatever the Mormon version is called) if she went ahead with an abortion even though doctors said her life was threatened. I remember seeing a link somewhere and followed it to a couple weeks old Kos diary detailing it. My bet is on this for the Surprise.I also understand that Obama met with Allred earlier this month.

Whatever the story, however, it’s just more of the same-old, same-old skulduggery of the desperate Democrats. I’ve never seen politics dragged into the gutter like this — but when you live in the gutter, as too many top echelon Dems do, where’re you going to do your fighting?
I’m really admiring both Romney and Ryan for not lowering themselves to the level of the dirty Dems and their thug enforcers in the media. But what a Catch-22 they’re in: They can’t compromise their own principles but they can’t become doormats either: They need the wisdom of Solomon.

Remember that in most states, ballots are transported and counted by unionized government workers.
Also, as noted by other posters, Barry’s running dog Eric Holder has been very active encouraging illegals to vote. Anyone pointing out – correctly – that current LAW prohibits voting by non-citizens (mostly Mexican illegals) risks arrest and worse at the hands of Holder’s henchmen. (BTW legal immigrants respect U.S. law and wouldn’t dream of trying to vote.)
Motor Voter laws allow people to self-certify that they are citizens allowed to vote. The wording for the tick-box is deliberately vague so if you feel you should be allowed to vote, you can feel good just ticking it.
Why can’t we just self-certify that we should be allowed to drive? Far more efficient than taking tedious tests.

My guess is that so many voters are so uninformed that any foreign-policy october surprise would be like a tree falling in a forest while no one is there.
Here is an October Surprise!! Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar when County Attorney for Hennipen cty.(Minneapolis), did not press charges against proven fraud and Ponzi schemer Tom Petters in 1999. She did charge try and get convictions for 2 of his confederates but not him. She has since received many thousands in contributions from Petters and his associates. Petters is now in Federal prison for his scheme. Klobuchar’s corruption gave him 10 more years to run his scam. 1000s were defrauded, over a Billion dollars lost. Considering everything Klobuchar’s honor was sold for an extremely small price. GOP challenger Kurt Bills is seriously underfunded. If this story breaks big he could win. If he does Romney will take Minnesota.

Well, IMHO, anything that Allred touches is suspect and I never thought firing a nanny (NOT that there was any PROOF of that) for being an illegal was all that bad – being that she was illegal and all. But apparently California had a problem with that.

It’s hard to forecast what Gloria Allred could invent, but I can only guess it would be related to someone the Romneys may have employed over the years.
Mitt is way too straight an arrow to have been unfaithful, so if Allred launches a surprise it’s probably something like a domestic who was short-changed her Christmas bonus…certainly a perfect reason to deny Romney the WH.

As a high-school, young adult of the 60′s, I am in disagreement with this article. All of the people I knew back then were outgrowing the 60′s by the time 1970 hit. They were heading off to college to get a degree, not throw bricks and insults; they were in the Military(as was I)even though the VietNam War was de-escalating; they were married and starting families and living in the suburbs. All the “flower-power” week-ends were exchanged for bbq’s in the backyard; “pot” was something to cook beans in again and hard drugs(LSD)was considered far too extreme by even the least strait-laced of the bunch. The view, in this article, of the 60′s is so narrow as to be stuck on College-campus’s without due regard to the rest of the nation. People like the Weather Underground weren’t protesting; they were breaking laws. The “60′s kids” broke few laws; at least legal ones though their morals were constantly called into question. Bill Ayers thought, and still thinks, he was a leader of a whole slice of America when, in reality, he had his few followers, similar to those of “Helter Skelter” fame and with about as much influence on the general population. I remember reading of the Weather Underground back in the day and thought they were stupid even then. My mind hasn’t been changed. Obama, being of that ilk, didn’t even deserve a first term much less a second. There are plenty “60′s” kids who think just like I do. Been there, done that, grew up.
So much for all the gnashing of teeth! I do not care what Gloria or any other Liberal assassin might do in the way of October Surprises – it was “get even” day for me. I went to one of the early voting locations in New Mexico and voted for Mitt Romney (and any other Republican I could find on the ballot). Boy does it feel good – kind of like taking a shower after coming in from a long camping trip. And when I get home from work I will celebrate with several cocktails. Life is good.

In the final debate we did not see an October surprise. Is that because it already happened?

In Rome it was a form of punishment issued by the Roman Senate for traitors or others who brought discredit to the Roman State.
We are now seeing the same thing applied to Lance Armstrong by the world cycling body when the Tour de France director Mr. Prudhomme said on Monday

What is wrong for Lance Armstrong is O.K. for Obama? Using high priced lawyers to deny transparency to any of Obama’s “so called” achievements. Obama bullying, and his bullying lawyers can block the American people if not the world from seeing his personal records and academic achievements, or absolutely blocking any of the things that prove Obama’s legitimacy; but somehow that is O.K.? Yet if lawyers are allegedly used to protect Lance Armstrong and that is wrong?
Liberals and Progressives can shout out any who would dispute hearsay evidence about Armstrong’s guilt yet these same people will deny inquiry into President Obama’s non-existent proofs of citizenship? Is this not similar to using courts to block records of testing positive for drugs? Think – concealing records that would otherwise block participation in any competition.
International Sports bodies look into Armstrong’s achievements even without a failed blood test yet the body of the U.S. Department of Justice says no American has standing to inquire into or question Obama’s sealed records which conceal any exposure of Obama’s background from the light of day?
Imagine if the International sports tribunals (judges) were stating that people inquiring into Lance Armstrong could not do so because they did not have standing?
Imagine what it would be like if Lance Armstrong had tested positive and been able to get the records sealed by court order from public view! It didn’t happen and Armstrong couldn’t do it – but Obama has done it!
Armstrong has said he has nothing to hide – yet whether people believe that or not is immaterial. Obama on the other hand has hidden everything and somehow that is supposed to be O.K.
It is wrong for Lance Armstrong to cheat – but it is OK for Obama to cheat?
It is wrong for Lance Armstrong to use sponsor money to hide facts and protect him – but is it OK for Obama to use sponsor money to conceal expository facts?
Ironically there is more evidence being concealed about Obama than there are facts to prosecute Lance Armstrong!
So the October surprise is this – if the World media can go after Lance Armstrong and that is supposed to be the correct or right thing to do – Then the World has no choice but to strip away the façade and the sponsorship protecting Obama because cheaters in politics are no different than cheaters in sports – they need to be exposed and banned from competition even if it is a “race to be President”.
“Damnatio memoriae” may be tried on Lance Armstrong but it is definitely on the horizon for the sitting U.S. president on and after November 6th regardless.
