Turn, Turn, Turn

March 31st, 2014 - 4:34 pm

Yes we can. Unlike previous scattershot presidents, Barack Obama has his priorities straight. Take his laser-like grand strategic focus.

In November, 2011 President Obama pledged to pivot to the Asia Pacific from the Middle East. Then on March 27, 2014 president Obama declared he would shift his focus from Europe to the Middle East.   On March 28, Time Magazine announced: the Middle East matters most to Obama, not Putin.

Then on March 30, 2014 the Hill reported that the US was shifting its focus from the Asia Pacific to Europe.  So I guess Putin matters after all.

Nobody mentioned Southwest Asia. The administration has probably already forgotten Afghanistan, that “war of necessity”, which was where Obama pivoted from Iraq. At a hearing this week, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan Greenert admitted his head was spinning.

“There’s a point to where the rubber band snaps,” Greenert responded. “And if we go to the Budget Control Act caps, and we continue on that track, then I think the rubber band’s pretty darn close to snapping, if you will.”

Obama unveiled the Asia-Pacific rebalance strategy in January 2012 just after U.S. troops had left Iraq, branding it as the next big foreign policy emphasis as the wars in the Middle East neared their ends.

And now things have changed again.  What is really threatening civilization is Global Warming. Secretary of State John Kerry reacted to the latest UN report calling for cutbacks on carbon generation saying “denial of the science is malpractice. There are those who say we can’t afford to act. But waiting is truly unaffordable. The costs of inaction are catastrophic”.

Is catastrophic more important than “vital”?  When president Obama says Iran categorically won’t get the Bomb how does that compare with a “Red Line”?  Even indefatigable Obama supporter Alan Dershowitz is exhibiting confusion.  ”It is Chamberlain who has come to symbolize the failure to prevent Hitler’s ascendancy. So too will Mr. Obama come to symbolize the failure of the West if Iran acquires nuclear weapons on his watch.”

It’s almost as if Dershowitz had doubts about the president’s ability to focus on a problem and solve it; almost as if he believed Iran, like Syria and Afghanistan and Iraq and Egypt and Libya and Obamacare and Benghazi … would just be kicked down the road and forgotten.

The problem of ordering priorities is not confined to the president.  The EU has announced it will make a huge sacrifice to  checkmate Putin’s ambitions in Eastern Europe. It’s going to put the campaign for gay rights on temporary hold.

In an effort to bring Ukraine closer to the West and avoid offending powerful conservative sensibilites in the new government in Kiev, the European Union has told human rights activists that it may backtrack on demands that the country improve legal protections for sexual minorities, which had previously been called a requirement for liberalizing visa rules between Ukraine and the EU.

The fight over LGBT rights comes as European officials are scrambling to come up with a response to Russia’s annexation of the Crimean peninsula and has raised the possibility that Brussels may sacrifice demands that Kiev improve its human rights record as part of strengthening ties with Europe.

This is operative until next week when a new media spin cycle starts again. Then the West will pivot to …

Obviously, we possess no such thing. I got proof an hour or so ago. I read Brit papers daily because American papers are homogenized and pasteurized. Nothing outside the Narrative is allowed. OK, already knew that. But something in the Daily Mail got my attention.

Scotland is going to have a referendum on independence from Britain. Britain has agreed to honor the results. And they are preparing options for that. That includes preparing a new flag for Britain.

The current Union Jack is a combination of the flags of the UK member nations. The government has drafted what the new flag will look like after the Scottish Cross of St. Andrew is removed, and test flags are being made. It was discovered because Daily Mail reporters took a telephoto picture of an aide getting out of a car and the papers he was carrying were exposed for a second. The flag design and the rationale, on a page clearly marked "Secret", was photographed and published.

Can you conceive of any American news outlet taking clandestine pictures of an American government official to get news about what the government was doing? Never going to happen. They are too stump broke. Further, you have to realize that they probably did not know that this particular aide was carrying this particular paper on top of his stack to be revealed. There has to be an ongoing program of watching government officials' activities in order to catch moments like this. Their press watches their government, constantly, even with the existence of their Official Secrets Act. To keep the government within the admittedly hazy bounds of their Constitution.

Our government watches us and the press, to keep us from enforcing the United States Constitution.

Is their any wonder that no one observant has any faith in the rule of law applying to those who make and enforce the laws in this country?

Obama's priorities are power to the democratic party. His goal is to turn the USA into a one-party state along the lines of Mexico or Brazil, with a small, entrencnched ruling class controlling a large powerless class of peasents. In Obama's future, socialism will work just fine - for the 15% or so at the top. The rest are expendable. And since American imperialism is the number one cause of war in the Leftist view, a weak, disarmed, helpless America will be good for the world and good for the democrats who will have more money with which to buy votes.

Forget Obamas words, look at his actions. The military has seen budget cut and program cut - to the point now where the USA has no conventional forces worth talking about. The nuclear arsenal is in no better shape. The navy is down to perhaps 9 operational carriers and fewer than 300 ships - and so little operational money that only 2 can be deployed. The army is shrinking from 45 brigades to 30 only 2 of which are combat ready. The air force is trying to get by with about 100 heavy bombers of all types and fewer than 120 first line F-22's. And most recently, Obama has ordered prodcution stopped of both Hellfire missiles (our chief anti-terror weapon) and the Tomahawk cruise missile as well.

And how is the world reacting? Russia is carving up the Ukraine, North Korea is exchanging fire with South Korea, China is eyeing her neighbors, Iran is shouting death to the USA, death to Israel while building nuclear weapons - brush fire after brush fire burning out of control while the American people think only of their Obama phones, health care cards and food cards.

Someday, somewhere, the Ameican people will pay a heavy price indeed for their bread and circuses. I hope they will learn from the pain, but I very much doubt it.

He does have his strategic priorities straight. His goal is the absolute destruction of the United States in particular, and Western culture in general. His methods are militarily classic:

Order, Counter-Order, Disorder

He is succeeding.

"If Buraq Hussein Obama was deliberately trying to destroy the country; what would he do differently than he is doing?

I haunt these pages daily thinking about all that is going on within and out of government. It makes me ask this question: Will the truth EVER come out? Or are we going to be left with the wreckage only? I still feel that there IS a cabal orchestrating all of these manuvers. As in the movie "Eyes wide Shut" (?) there are sinister forces at play.

Its the Games of Drones. And by drones, I'm not talking about UAW's.

No. The leadership of Western Civilization has devolved into a little group playing a video game like Worlds of Warcraft. All of what they do is playing status games for the group of their peers all competing for the weird little rules of their game.

Player One: "Hey--I'm so enlightened I'm going to let anyone from the Third World come into my country and make all of my peasants support them."

Player Two: "HUH--that ain't nothing. I'm gonna do that too and put any of my peasants who object about it in jail."

Player Three: "HUH -that ain't nothing. I'm going to do all that and unilaterally disarm my country."

Player Four: "That ain't nothing. I'm going..."

Status games for those who consider themselves to be Enlightened.

No, to them all we little peasants are just weird little images in their video games to be used for the fancy of the moment. Should everything turn out wrong they can always reset the game. The little characters who are burning and screaming for their mistakes are insignificant. For them the reset button is always available if it gets too intense or they just get frustrated or bored, No consequences will ever happen to them. That's one of the essential rules.

Its time we, the little peasants, push the destroy and reset button on them.

If we hafta have a golfer for a president, I say
Then why not get a good one for the job
I’d rather have a Palmer or a Nicklaus any day
Or maybe someone from the Jersey Mob
At least the mob guys only steal our money and our wives
Our freedom’s safe as ever in their hands
They’d be content to take the dough and stay out of our lives
A president we’d all know where he stands
The current White House occupant’s a shadow on the wall
A pivot here, a divot there, a smirk
I’d rather have Dick Nixon back, his tapes and warts and all
And Kissinger looks like he needs the work

I wonder, do you think there is anyone in this administration who would willingly, go to jail for this President? A Haldeman or an Ehrlichman or any of the other 'Best and Brightest' that threw themselves on their swords with a smile for Nixon?
No?
Me neither.

Turning can indicate humility. The willingness to admit error and learn from reality, while still showing decisiveness and a willingness to stay on target to achieve a goal is admirable. With this regime's turning, not so much.

'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free

'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,

And when we find ourselves in the place just right,

'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.

When true simplicity is gained,

To bow and to bend we shan't be ashamed,

To turn, turn will be our delight,

Till by turning, turning we come 'round right.

Are the Russians inside Obama's OODA loop? Are the Chinese or the Iranians? Perhaps we can construct a shorter list. Just who isn't? Is Obama inside America's? They say that if you don't know who the Mark is then the Mark is you. Who says that that Obama does not know?

It is time for something spectacular to happen in Latin America.

From a certain perspective, a downward power spiral that comes from a pilot mishandling the aircraft's controls looks like a "turn."

And so does a spin, brought on as a result of stalling the airplane and failing to apply recovery techniques.

Both of the maneuvers consist of a remarkably tight "turn" but both are a case of going nowhere fast - except down - with catastrophic results certain unless corrective action is taken.

The power spiral is brought on by a pilot either failing to understand what his instruments say, ignoring his instruments and preferring to fly "by the seat of his pants" or simply not understanding what the controls of an airplane actually do, like making turns based on use of the rudder.

The spin is a result of failing to recognize a stall and/or not understanding what are the proper recovery techniques.

Both lack of skill and an unwillingness to learn the proper techniques characterize the Obama Admin.

One of the interesting social phenomenons of the rise of the Internet and blogs, is the tendency to seek out like minds, and confirming opinions. Confirmational bias. This has resulted in a partitioning of intellectual thought, ideas. The results are our polarized society, or perhaps the better word is quarantined. We have quarantined our ideas from each other. One side refuses to listen, and the other side can't be heard.

The UN IPCC report comes out, and all the agreeing thought leaders dutifully clap their hands and confirm what they already believe. The SoS Kerry repeats the meaningless bromide of crisis and the need for action. So it goes.
The Media repeats this ad nauseum, and the politically incurious will accept this as truth or majority opinion, and will go along to get along. But sometimes they wonder what has happened to our manufacturing base, and where have all the jobs gone, and why is everything they buy in stores made in China, or Thailand or Mexico or somewhere else? Of course, they blame Wal-Mart for importing and tempting them with cheaper goods than could be made in America, but the thought lingers. Why?

Every few months, Obama utters another strategic imperative. If we had a professional and inquisitive Media, they might begin to question what is really happening? Where's the beef? Why the contradictions? Why is the Navy weaker now when we are pivoting left and right to confront yet another strategic crisis?
The quarantine of ideas and thoughts between the Left and the Right will continue. Some people might be able to peak over the wall, but the Media narrative will continue to utter only the Newspeak accepted ideas, which are constantly banging about the Left side of the Blogosphere. Remember, only Obama has the Answers! And don't forget - Drink more Ovaltine!

So ironic that throughout my life, it has been almost exclusively LIBERALS who like to invoke the victimhood of Leonardo da Vinci --- suppressed so unjustly by the mean old Pope for questioning the Vatican's authority.

And yet, there they go, using that same damned sledge hammer on the increasingly discredited global warming scam.

That's right, guys...Play it out to the bitter end; right up to the moment the angered peasants tickle your guts with their pitchforks!

Breitbart was trying to resurrect this kind of journalism in the U.S. I'm blanking out on the name of the conservative young guerilla journalist who goes under cover and films things--caught Planned Parenthood and ACORN redhanded. James O'Keefe, I think. Great stuff, but takes tremendous sacrifice and talent. Used to be we had newspaper reporters doing this in every city and supported by their editors and managers. Guess the Brits still have that to some extent.
