The Strawpoll application has been updated. It is an application that shows who is running in your area sometimes at detail down to the level of sheriff. It has links to Ballotpedia pages where pages for the candidate exist so you can research the person and make an informed choice.
Moreover, you can print your ballot! “No more now who was that guy again?” moments. And for those of you who are members of Facebook you can share your ballot with a friend. It sends the ballot to only the friends you select. And if you like it, there are instructions on how to embed the widget in an Iframe on your page. Plus you can see current vote totals at all levels.

The “top two” rule to deny the voters any possibility of a choice is breathtakingly audacious. It passes the “Electoral Stardust” test for winning through chutzpah. In “The Great McGinty” the Boss played by Akim Tamiroff admitted that he ran the Reform Party as well as the Regulars, so that he wouldn’t have to go out of business every time there was an election.

I’m getting an “unresponsive script” window with “tocque” in the lead code words.
Ok. Some progress. I reloaded the page. And it asked me to enter the address info again (no memory of any of it in the windows).
But now all ballots are empty. It’s kind enough to give me a single box to check the candidate — but it’s blank.
Hey. None of the above is on the ballot? It’s about time!

I reloaded a 2nd time, reentered the data again, and I finally got the full ballots.
Done.
I was shocked to find this on the presidential ballot “Rosanne Barr & Cindy Sheehan”. Seriously? I had no idea these two loons were doing this. That’s not a Halloween joke?
It’s true. They are running mates for the Peace and Freedom Party. Here’s the announcement in the Los Angeles Times.
Strawpoll would not take my house number. When I put in just my street name it accepted it but said there were no elections for this address.
Didn’t work for me – the page came up but nothing to click or enter…. tried three times.

When I click on “view total votes” it’s providing only the presidential tallies under “Federal” and “All.”
“State,” “County,” and “Other” all come up with blanks. Maybe after a longer while the participation on those will not be so small and the tallies for the other candidates won’t be only my vote. That is kind of embarrassing (and even upsetting) to post, so I can understand the reluctance to permit those tallies to appear.
The glitch of having 58 presidential choices showing up in the totals both under Federal and All needs fixing.
Of course, given the ominous rumor of Valerie Jarrett’s threat may mean this will be the last allegedly free election, so this could be the last chance to get this effort right and not have the election outcome foreordained.
