Remember when there was excitement about Trump being a businessman President? Remember all the accomplishments he was supposed to achieve for capitalism and for American industries? Remember all the people who voted for him because he was going to bring back our manufacturing jobs? Well, after his remarks about Charlottesville, several business leaders and CEOs have condemned the moral ambiguity he demonstrated. Several have quit his manufacturing and strategy councils. Instead of trying to win them back, or attempt to harden his statements against neo-Nazis, Trump has now simply disbanded these councils altogether. If a Democratic president had done this, we would likely be arguing that they had completely abandoned America’s economic interests in an attempt to save political face. But somehow, because Trump has an ‘R’ after his name, we’re just going along with it?!?
