Lenin, Stalin, Ceausescu, Obama: How Marxist Leaders Conceal Their Pasts

In 2008, the deceased veteran journalist David S. Broder compared Senator Obama’s tactics to hide his socialist past to the tactics of military pilots who need to protect themselves when flying over a target heavily defended by antiaircraft guns: “They release a cloud of fine metal scraps, hoping to confuse the aim of the shells or missiles being fired in their direction.”[vi] That’s a good description of glasnost.

Every glasnost I have ever known had the overriding task of concealing a ruler’s past by giving him a new political identity. Stalin’s glasnost concealed his horrific assassination of some 24 million people by portraying him as an earthly god, with his icon prominently displayed all around the country. Khrushchev’s glasnost was aimed at building a peaceful international façade for the man who shifted the KGB’s political assassinations over to the West. That was proved by the West German Supreme Court in October 1962, during the public trial of Bogdan Stashinsky, a KGB officer who had been decorated by Khrushchev himself for having assassinated Soviet enemies living in the West.[vii] Gorbachev, who had been a KGB informant when he was studying at Moscow State University,[viii] tasked his glasnost to lead attention away from his KGB past by portraying him as a magician who displayed a flirtatious “Miss KGB” to Western correspondents and pledged to transform the Soviet Union into a “Marxist society of free people.”[ix]

In 2008, when Senator Obama was running for president, his tax policies and voting records showed him as “the hardest-left candidate ever nominated for president of the United States.”[x] Remember? Running as a socialist, however, meant sailing in uncharted waters, and the senator decided to conceal his socialist image by presenting himself as a contemporary Reagan.[xi] After he was elected, President Obama further portrayed himself either as a present-day Lincoln[xii] or a new Teddy Roosevelt.[xiii]

"The president is certainly his own man—well educated, well-spoken, charismatic and charming."

Um, no. He is not well-spoken; away from the teleprompter, he is incoherent. Well-educated ... who knows, his records are sealed. Charismatic and charming ... well, that's in the eye of the beholder ... some are more discerning than others. Who was it said you can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time? That.

It is funny, well, not really. When I had the opportunity to speak to some
German governmental employees in 2009, they heralded President Obama
as a true godsend, not only for America, but for Europe.
When I had the opportunity to speak to some German governmental employees in 2013, they spoke about how frightening it is that President Obama has reached Messiah status, and it is pretty scary for them to watch, as it reminds them of "someone else" in their historical past.

It is also funny, well, not really, that for five years, Mr. Pacepa has been warning America that Obama is not the American-democracy-loving package he proclaims, but someone quite the opposite. I don't think Mr. Pacepa was taken seriously then, but today you can't read the news without hearing of how our President aims to dismantle our country through his Socialist policies. How much more wreckage will Americans need to endure before we finally see what is really going on?

when a person can seal his records, claim to be transparent, and the media goes along with this paradox, you know that the media is now the lap dog and propaganda wing for a personal agenda, and not doing what they were supposed to do, be the watch dog for the citizens of the country.

Republicans forget that George W. Bush was the first president to socialize the auto industry in the 21st century. George W. Bush announces $17.4 billion auto bailout. The plan includes taxpayer assistance for GM and Chrysler in return for radical restructuring.

BUT MOM!!! The other kids did it too!!

Does your Mom know where you are?

The auto bailout Bush PROPOSED (he didn't sign) was loans in which the rules of priority for others creditors was left intact.

Now, shall we talk about Woodrow Wilson 100 years earlier?

Catre domnul Ion Mihai Pacepa,

That list of schools, parks and avenues named after Obama while he's still alive and still president is quite scary.

When I first saw the 'Greek temple' setting of the Dem Party rally at Denver, my thought was of Nuremberg in 1834----Leni Riefenstahl's epochal filming of the Nazi Party rally, 'Triumph des Willens'. The pseudo-Greek columns evoked the scene of the stadium surrounded by searchlights pointed upward to form 'pillars of light'. For me, this was a dead giveaway. I wonder how many others remembered that past image and saw it again at Denver.

NONE of those cited did anything alone. They ALL had enablers of their PLANS. None of which plans was secret however "secretly and in the night" managed "to undermine the pillars of the City".

Actively embedded by members in the various Congress, Parliaments, Congress of Soviets, Reichstag, etc. in the social institutions in their purview.

Lawyers, Judges, Educators, propaganda - entertainment Media personnel, and members of the governments themselves. People enjoined as public SERVANTS. Who served themselves before and beyond their dependent charges.

CHANGING in collusion with one another the laws and social ethos on which they depend for their powers. AND which are designed to PROTECT their charges, the populations, from their depredations.

The cited are ONLY figureheads. Those who acted behind the scenes over long periods to prepare the ground for the seeds planted and cultivated to their designs ought not be allowed to escape THEIR INDIVIDUAL responsibility for the successes of their activities.

And as "the fish stinks from the top" to name the nost responsible and DEMAND they pay compensation for damage done to "The
Lives of Others".

NO. A meaningless apology is not acceptable as "compensation" for their deconstruction of the structures on which the populations depend for protection from such assaults To remove from them the weapons for their PLANNED mass destruction, i.e their "Fundamental Transformation of the Nation ", the USA as Constitutional Republic of the United States . In which the Citizen is sovereign, NOT ANY Office or Officer/officers of government.

Unfortunately dependent on Lawyers and Judges who are necessarily members of their corrupt professional bodies. So...?

AND as members of government are the ones who CONSTRUCT the social enterprise are the MOST responsible. Enjoined to act for the benefit , public SERVANTSm for the population particularly construct the social enterprise

And the compliant, complicit, loathsome media mouthpieces.

So much of POTUS's damages could have been stopped if the media had a stake in truth.

Not even Stalin had an as complicit, fawning, literally messiah-worshipping media establishment with the reach and influence that Obama has....the media built this fraud from thin air and has also covered for him and protected him from being exposed for what he truly is. But, maybe he has exposed himself through Obamacare to the extent that not even the US media can cover for him any longer...

Remember BENGHAZI!

It'd be nice to think that the media can cover for him no longer. The stake they have has now been raised to include propping up the POTUS and making their own malfeasance look innocent. Thus, it seems logical that there will be a doubling down by the media to protect the POTUS as well as themselves.

It will be disgusting to watch as they already have contorted themselves into a comic book caricature of real journalism.

Charismatic and charming. That is how a friend of mine described a teacher he had at a JC in Ukiah. The teacher's name was Jim Jones. Yes, that one.

Speaking of Obama's nurturing a "cult of personality" (as every dictator cultivates), it was during the 2008 campaign when Obama at some rally was approached by a woman who wanted some favor to be bestowed upon her by King Messiah (I believe I saw this sorry spectacle on CNN). And the Messiah made personal promises to look into the matter. It was so anti-American, so akin to how tyrants operate -- I was appalled. Then, in 2012, during Obozo's campaign, it happened again. It was after Hurricane Sandy -- and Obozo is photographed hugging a woman, a victim of Hurricane Sandy, and he is promising to personally assist her. Weeks later (after Obozo wins re-election?) the woman noted that she never heard back from Obozo, but she did get a form letter. (In 2008 there were also all of those creepy songs forced to be sung by elementary school children in praise of Obozo's magnificence).

Just as repulsive is a Christie re-election commercial running in our local market. It shows, in black and white to underscore it's "seriousness", a woman victim of Hurricane Sandy pleading for the Governor to help her recover and Christie hugs her and promises to give her the help she needs. It's really quite sickening to see a grown woman beg for the government to help her and equally sickening to see a Republican promise to give her the help.

Yep. I don't even think of Christie as a "conservative". He's like John McCain..."republican in name only", otherwise best known as yet another Democrat.

I had a dinner discussion with Soviet emigre and later US Chess Champion Lev Alburt shortly after his speech on Gorbachev and Glasnost to the Heritage Foundation in the mid-'80s. He pointed out exactly what you do: "In English dictionaries, you have words with several definitions, and the first is the main one. It is the same in Russian. So 'glasnost' does mean 'openness,' but this is a minor definition. The first definition translates roughly to 'publicity' or 'public relations,' and this is what Gorbachev really means: to save the Soviet state by making it seem more free and open to the West, but holding onto the totalitarian power of the Party."
