Editor’s Note: This is Part II of an ongoing series by Robert Spencer highlighting human rights hypocrisy and fraudulent peace activists. For Part I, see last week’s article: “The Hypocrisy of the ‘Islamophobia’ Scam

Last week, after jihad terrorists Mujaahid Abu Hamza and Ismail Ibn Abdullah (formerly Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale) were convicted of murder for beheading British soldier Lee Rigby on a London street, I had an exchange with the prominent British “moderate” Muslim spokesman Mohammed Ansar on Twitter. Ansar asserted:

Know that despite the claims of these killers, Islam does not allow for their actions. They are wrong in Islam. They are wrong in the law.

Knowing that Mujaahid Abu Hamza had invoked the Qur’an on camera moments after murdering Rigby, I asked Ansar:

Adbolajo invoked the Quran sura 9 right after the killing. Can you please refer us to an exegesis of sura 9 that refutes his views?

Ansar responded:

“Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings” a 512 page Islamic analysis by Qadri, that terrorism is unjust, evil + un-Islamic.

This didn’t really answer my question, as I was asking for sources giving a peaceful interpretation of sura 9, that is, Surat at-Tauba, the ninth chapter of the Qur’an, which Mujaahid Abu Hamza specifically invoked to justify his murder of Lee Rigby. Instead of offering that, Ansar referred me to Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul-Qadri’s Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings. But as this massive fatwa is a monument of “moderate Islam,” I figured it was worth a look.

To be sure, I had never placed much stock in this fatwa as a genuine exercise in Islamic moderation, as Qadri was a chief framer of Pakistan’s notorious blasphemy laws, which have been used to victimize countless Christians in Pakistan. Still, his fatwa is often touted as the quintessential refutation of the “extremist” understanding of Islam, so it warrants careful consideration.

Muslim scholars determined back in the 1400s that the Koran and Surrahs were perfect and no longer needed to be discussed. They also decided that anyone that tried to change this perfection would be guilty of heresy and should be killed immediately. So, how dare we mere infidels try to tell the true believers that the Koran is wrong?

Lets assume for a moment that u-Qadri is sincere about reforming Islam.

We have him and a few others on one side and on the other side thousands or more likely millions of chanting maniacs calling for death to someone or other, whomever it is they are angry at that day but always including Israel and America.

The mainstream Muslims are slaughtering Christians in Syria and Nigeria and wherever else they can as we speak. One lone voice of reason, ul-Qadri has arbitrarily close to zero chance of bringing about any change.

Islam is like an old building that can no longer be remodeled or repaired. It must be bulldozed into the landfill of history.

Like the bible, the Koran speaks of violence but also
Of love and peace. But the similarities end there.
It's often been pointed out by scholars of Islam, like
Professor Daniel Pipes and others, that according
To the traditions and dictates of Islamic law the later writings
Of Muhammad in which the violent passages towards
Non-believers are found, supersede and negate the earlier,
Peaceful passages. This is referred to as the 'law
Of abrogation' and is held as fundamental to Islamic
Doctrine and law. The latest teachings are the valid teachings
And negate the earlier ones. Those who point
To Koran's peaceful passages are ignorant of
This fundamental law regarding the Koranic writings.
A Muslim who says that Islam dictates peace
And tolerance for Jews and Christians is either
Being disingenuous ( google 'Taqiyya' ) or committing
An act of blasphemy. This is just fact. Any 'reformation'
Of that religion will have to make a fundamental
Change regarding Muhammad's teachings and
Turn this 'law of abrogation' on its head. Good
Luck with that !

Can't we all get along? No.
The true believers won't change, they want you dead.

How come no mention of strategic lying, of taqiyya? Islam's apologists -- of all kinds, within and outside the faith -- are either playing you for a fool or are fools themselves. The effect is the same.

The real questions for the real world:
1/ Why is this news (yet again, oh no!)?
2/ What are you going to do about it?

The solution is emphatically not to resolve to waffle more. Endlessly re-hashing old platitudes and lies won't get you to a peaceful world.
It never has, and it won't now.

So forget our pansified State Dep't, brace for more 'work-related accidents' and prepare for explosions. Main question is the target list, which includes cutting off funding for the bad guys, especially the America-haters infecting our campuses.
Plus support for Israel and loathing for Hillary, loudly and often.

Robert Spencer is an an ill-informed hate-blogger and Islamophobe who is rightly banned from the UK has failed to understand the basic reasons for the Fatwa on Terrorism & Suicide Bombings book which has 512 pages and is a true peace-document.

He has completely failed to grasp the point of the Fatwa on Terrorism, which actually deals with the core arguments that terrorists misuse Qur'anic verses to defend their wrong actions. Hence this Fatwa on Terrorism is a clear cut peace-document which refutes each and every argument made by the terrorists and actually declares them disbelievers.

The Fatwa on Terrorism clearly explains how terrorists such as the likes of Mujaahid Abu Hamza and Ismail Ibn Abdullah (formerly Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale) have nothing to do with Islam or its peaceful teachings nor can their actions be defended by using any verses of the Qur'an.

Quotes from Fatwa on Terrorism:

"Those who attack peaceful non-Muslim citizens, kidnap them for ransom and torture them mentally or physically, or keep them under unlawful custody are in fact committing major violations of Islamic teachings."

"When the supporters of the Kharijites do not have a legal argument to defend their actions, they draw people’s attention to the vices and corruption of the ruling elite and the oppression committed by foreign forces. By way of this moral equivocation, they attempt to justify unlawful murder. They are content in the belief that, although the terrorists are doing wrong, their intention is good and beyond reproach. This is a major intellectual faux pas, and many people, both educated and uneducated, suffer from this doubt. An evil act remains evil in all its forms; whether it is interpreted as injustice, this principle remains the same. Therefore, no forbidden action can ever become a virtuous and lawful deed due to the goodness of intention."

Before attacking Islam, Spencer should study The Glorious Qur'an English translation of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri which is the most accurate and reliable translation of the Holy Qur'an to date. Employing a unique system of hermeneutics, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has produced a fully explanatory translation of the Qur’an into modern English, which at the same time maintains strict linguistic accuracy in relation to the original Arabic. The translation features parenthetic explanations in step with the translated sentence structures, which are also consistent with the structures of the Arabic text, and which conform to the Prophetic traditions and established exegetic principles (acts as a commentary of the Qur'an).

This unique translation of the Qur'an will ensure that people like Spencer and terrorists do not twist the Qur'anic meaning. A paperback copy can be ordered from here: http://www.minhajpublications.com/?p=1070 or http://www.amazon.com/Glorious-Quran-Muhammad-Tahir-ul-Qadri/dp/1908229101/

He will notice that ALL of the Qur'an verses that Spencer refers to in his blog, if translated properly in the correct context actually relate to wars only in DEFENCE of the Muslim state , never offensive. Hence any acts of terrorism by jihadists or any radicals in the West or in Muslim-majority countries are considered to be completely against the teachings of Islam. This is what the Fatwa on Terrorism has effectively and most accurately highlighted. We also recommend him to read the latest book of Dr Qadri "Islam on Mercy and Compassion" to grasp the true teachings of Islam which are based purely on Mercy and Compassion, order a copy here: http://www.minhajpublications.com/?p=1168.

Dr Qadri translates the Qur'anic verses on Jihad which Spencer mentions in his blog, as follows:

2:191-192:

"And (during war) kill (the aggressing and combating disbelievers) wherever you find them, and drive them out (through military operation by the state) from where they drove you out. And rousing mischief and disruption is a severer (crime) than killing. But do not fight against them in the proximity of the Sacred Mosque (Ka‘ba) unless they themselves fight there against you. Then if they attack you, kill them (in defence), for that is the right penalty of (such aggressing and combating) disbelievers.

But if they desist, then surely Allah is Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful."

9:36:

"Fight against all the idolaters (in retaliation) the same way as they all (allied) have imposed war upon all of you"

4:89:

"They (the hypocrites) wish that you should also disbelieve as they have disbelieved so that you all might become alike. So do not make friends with (any of) them until they emigrate in the way of Allah (in order to prove their sincerity and truthfulness). Then, if they turn away (and start war against you), seize them and kill them wherever you find them (during the war), and take not (any of) them either for a friend or for a helper."

8:12:

"(O Esteemed Beloved! Also recall the majestic sight of your glory) when (on the occasion of the battle

So why aren't muslims out hunting down and punishing muslims? Seems to me that if the fat-wah went out from the esteemed oh-so-worshipful one, as if it was words from dear child-molester himself, then the muslims would be enraged and go out to cleanse their good name, no?

Yet, I never hear about muslims who are angered by these barbaric acts against the civilized; Never any condemnation of it getting much press. Why izzat, there Apu?

I detest your culture. Yes, you might even say I hate it. All I needed to know about islam I learned in Libya in the 1960's. Pedophile men, rapists, stonings, pathetic education levels...and that was WITH help from the West.

After the West was thrown out, things got so much better, wot?
Same with Iran.
Same with all of the pathetic antisocial miscreant assemblage of your cult.

And don't tell me about the violence committed in the name of Christianity. Hasn't been happening much in the past 150 years or so, has it? Whereas the muslims can't seem to get a handle on self-critiquing, basic human rights, women's rights, childrens' rights, right of property and of law. Well, except for law because when a woman is raped, she gets stoned to death because, after all, it's her fault. Serves her right, eh?

Or, when a thirteen year old girl is forced to marry her middle aged cousin with no teeth and whose breath could stop a train, regardless of the fact that, in general, he has the IQ of a stick and hasn't bathed since he was born.

So tell me again, you allah-worshipping self-righteous person, when it comes down to the word of Christ or the word of a rapist, child molester preaching kindness, I guess you side with the child molester.

Well, good on ya. You go, man. Clearly that's the way civilization should go.

"And so, over 12 years after 9/11 and after innumerable calls for moderate Muslims to step up and reclaim their faith theologically from the 'extremists,' we are still waiting for them to do so..."

The reason they haven't is because they CAN'T. The jihadists have an airtight case. They ARE correctly following the teachings of their "religion". So-called moderate muslims who don't pursue jihad are simply non-practicing muslims (and praise be that they're out there). In other words islam is the problem folks. Sorry, but it's true.

We need to be honest with ourselves about Islam. Aside from those murdered by "radical" Muslims those who suffer the most from Islam are the followers of Islam. Talk of reform is in reality non existent.

"Scholars" such as Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul-Qadri's only purpose is to make non Muslims believe that a debate is taking place. Just look at the violent hordes wherever Islam is present in large numbers. No debate is happening.

Does anyone really think that the Muslim version of the Pajama Boy is sitting around drinking hot whatever they drink and talking about the new "moderate" Islam?

Of course not. Then why are we wasting our time giving jokes like Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul-Qadri any credence.

There will never be a nice Islam. We should concentrate our efforts on finding ways to make non Muslim countries less hospitable to Muslims so they have less desire to come here.

I know all about "freedom of religion" but the constitution was never intended to be a suicide pact.

We have talked enough about Islam and listened enough to the absurd apologists for Islam. It's time we focus our discussion on doing something about preserving our way of life.

I don't think there can be any question that the Islam by force terrorist movement is large and extremely dangerous. It also seems multi-homed, from Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc.

What annoys me are the assertions that whenever some tiny voice of moderation comes up it gets slapped down as being disingenuous, or worse, some kind of organized deception...there are no good Muslims...really...come on...plenty of places with majority Muslim populations were pretty decent by third world standards until the rise of Islamic terrorism, and the idiotic decision to hand over billions in oil revenue to the most backwards cultures on Earth simply because they lived in the proximity of where western oil companies were digging.

We also failed to hold these nations accountable for their actions, because of fear of being called "colonialists". We made this happen by giving fanatics resources which their uncooperative interpretations of their religion would have precluded them making any other way.

If someone had given Christian religious fanatics uncountable billions of dollars in the days of yore, they would not have come to the "right" interpretations of the Bible either. Look at the Old Testament, it is replete with bloodthirsty actions ordered by god. Then Jesus says he has come to bring conflict and let him without a sword go buy one.

Christians ignore those passages, or at least interpret them to somehow suggest decency and support for toleration and the rule of law. This isn't a suggestion of cultural relativism, just an observation that the "bad path" was present in the text, Christians just took the other one, and then went back and put up a bunch of philosophical roadblocks to see to it that future generations were not led down it.

The Muslim world isn't going to convert en masse. So either we support and reward each and every movement in the right direction, or we just wait until some Islamic organization sets off an atomic bomb in an American city. Then the issue will resolve differently. Then we will be forced to abandon all sense of Wilsonian diplomacy and go back to a system of strict accountability of nations. The rules will change abruptly and millions will die.

I for one would rather make common cause with every even slight moderate and trust our ideas are powerful enough to slow walk them to reality. We need to cut the ground out from under the fanatics but this cannot be done with Litmus tests of perfect ideological purity.

Does anyone really believe that the guy who pulled all those quotes to defend Dr Quadri's book wants to run around killing people? There are a hell of a lot of people raised Muslim who just know that they take solace from their religion, so it can't possibly be evil. Every time one of them looks to prove this, it is a civilizing act, an attempt to do good and make peace. It should be treated as such, even while we point out what flaws in their arguments may exist.

The difference here is that Islam went from peaceful to violent. Christianity is right the opposite. Christ came to basically wipe away the need for the violence of the Old Testament era and promote peace. Islam is right the opposite and built seemingly as a political and a means of cohesive control for Arabs (something they didn't have prior to 700s because they were all over the map with their religions while Christians and Jews were established).

Sorry, your argument is based on a false perception.
The reason the arguments get "slapped down" is because Muhammad made the declarations of killing Jews and Christians.
And what Muhammad says goes.
Period.
Didn't you read the quotes in the article?

Christian "religious fanatics" failed because they were not following the tenants of Christ.
Your equivalent analogy in Christianity, would be for Christians to reject the words of Christ.
Ain't going to happen.

Nothing is wrong with #DrQadri 's FATWA AGAINST TERRORISM

It is true that the Verses from Holy Quran quoted by the respected writer in this article were relevant to the FATWA but did not discussed by #DrQadri. But how did you can blame this as a deceiving act?

It is a matter of consideration that Holy Prophet (PBUH) Narrated Millions of Traditions to his blessed companions and companions transmitted to there followers as well but there is not any single book which contain or cover all the Millions of Narration. Books of Prophetic Traditions are available in size of 1 up to 20 Volumes but one can never blame throughout the History that if some of Narrations are not available in a book as Dishonesty of the Narrator or the Transmitter. Because they chose Narrations and Traditions from in a Number that can be enough to complete a handy book.

Now come to the case of #DrQadri 's Fatwa Against Terrorism. This was a comprehensive verdict on Issue of Terrorism and Suicide Bombing which was Associated with Islam by the Western World. #DrQadri was not writing a Commentary on Quran only but he had discussed all the Respected Channels of Islam from where a Followable Order is Generated. That is why he has Selected some of the Versed and Left some of as well. Then he Selected some of Prophetic Traditions. Then he discussed the behavior of companions of Prophet (PBUH) in this specific subject. Then he came to the Leading Jurisprudence Teachers and give their opinion to strengthen his case. This is the way to complete a subject within 3 to 5 pages book. So before criticizing and blaming you must have to know about how a book is finalized.

However for your satisfaction I want to refer you to the complete English Translation of Holy Quran by #DrQadri

http://www.minhajpublications.com/?p=114
http://www.irfan-ul-quran.com/quran/english/index.html

Please also see the Correct English Translation of the Verses quoted in this Article because you have been deceived by Someone giving UN-Explained and UN-Clarified Translation of Quranic Verses. I suggest you to Learn Quran by Someone who is Proper Authority on Quran Like Shaykh-ul-Islam Professor Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.

TRANSLATION OF QUOTED VERSED BY #DRQADRI

4.89. They (the hypocrites) wish that you should also disbelieve as they have disbelieved so that you all might become alike. So do not make friends with (any of) them until they emigrate in the way of Allah (in order to prove their sincerity and truthfulness). Then, if they turn away (and start war against you), seize them and kill them wherever you find them (during the war), and take not (any of) them either for a friend or for a helper.

8.12. (O Esteemed Beloved! Also recall the majestic sight of your glory) when (on the occasion of the battle of Badr) your Lord revealed to the angels the message: ‘I am (also) with you (to support the Companions of the Messenger). So, keep the believers firm-footed and steadfast (by good news and support); I will cast awesomeness (of Muhammad’s forces [blessings and peace be upon him]) into the hearts of the (aggressing) disbelievers right now. So, strike at the nape of (the combatant disbelievers’) necks and crush all their tendons and joints (during the war, in response to their plan and war strategy against you).’

8.39. And, (O people of truth,) continue your fight against these (chieftains of oppression and terrorism for the establishment of enduring peace), until there does not (remain) any disruption and Din (the system of compliance with law) is devoted to Allah alone. And if they desist, then Allah surely sees well (the action) that they are accomplishing.

8.60. And, (O Muslims,) muster up as much defence strength as you can (in the form of weapons and equipment of war) and (also formations) of war steeds (i.e., war mounts) to combat them. Cause fear with this (readiness) amongst the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and also those besides them whose (secret enmity) you know not; Allah knows them. And whatever you spend in the way of Allah, you will be paid back in full, and you will not be done any injustice.

9.5. So when the sacred months have passed, then (as declared) kill the idolaters (who have re-initiated war) wherever you find them (during the war), capture them, imprison them and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush (to catch and besiege them). So, if they repent, establish Prayer and start paying Zakat (the Alms-due), then leave their way open. Surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.

9.29. (O Muslims!) Wage (also a defensive) war against those of the People of the Book who (infringed the peace treaty signed with you, and despite being in exile, provided full support to the disbelieving Meccan invaders who imposed the battle of al-Ahzab [the Confederates] on Medina, and have continued every possible conspiracy against you even now). They do not have faith in Allah and the Last Day, and do not consider unlawful the things Allah and His Me

I'm surprised the liberal press didn't turn the two men into white Nigerians and treat the incident as a once in 70,000 year eruption of a super-volcano. Since they could do neither, they simply ignored it, as they did the mall attack in Kenya. Had the proper identities been involved in either one, Christian or white, we'd still be seeing a crusade and complex dissections of the events.
