Hopeless. What are the chances any of these women will ever read a book?
Whoopi Goldberg seems completely ignorant of history.
Whoopi Goldberg seems ignorant? Yes. But not to any greater degree than Joy Behar or whoever the twink is sitting to Coulter’s left. (All of them. Haha. No.) Or Barbara Walters. What a bunch of ignoramuses and parrots. Joy Behar blathering on about how Republicans do voter suppression, all over the place, it’s all Republicans–she can’t even name any place where votes have been suppressed, and her only support for making the accusation is that it’s become part of the Democrats’ election terrorist manual since the Clinton administration.
Four loathsome harpies, and Ann Coulter and the mouse.
Whoopi takes history lessons from Congresswoman Yvette Clarke who claims that slavery still existed in the United States in 1898.
They only touched on Newt’s “Food Stamp President” label. But every time I hear someone proclaiming Newt a racist, I get angry. It’s an incredibly ignorant statement. I grew up in one of the poorest, whitest areas in the country. I definitely didn’t grow up poor, but I grew up playing football games with nobody in the stands because nobody, not even the other team’s parents, cared about the rural town’s school.
Working in the local Emergency Room, I saw plenty of white, poor people with very little self control or responsibility. Plenty of older, white women who were stuck on pain pills and would go to their dealer, the ER doc.
My mother worked for a man who owned several fast food franchises in the area. She was in charge of finances for the restaurants. She would get calls from mothers who wanted to know that their teenage child didn’t work over a certain amount of hours because then their family wouldn’t get benefits if they worked too much.
I only lived at my hometown for a little bit after undergrad. I lived in some pretty good housing, mostly grad students, young professionals. However, my sister lived in a bit of a poorer area of town, but still safe. She had some neighbors who were perpetually smoking on their porch.
I’m convinced that people who grew up in or around urban centers see a different world than I do. They grew up seeing a world where the rich/poor divide was based on color. I grew up in a place where the rich/poor divide was based on attitudes and habits.
Whoopi couldn’t even get a coherent sentence out and the other girls try to mount an argument and then get shot down by the facts that Ann Coulter has at the ready. The ladies of the view just look like a bunch of squabbling old hens.
I also find it annoying when people label something “controversial” because they disagree with it. Mugged is a great book filled with indisputable facts by an incredibly keen witted woman. I wish I had one fraction of Ann’s intellect.
Watching this is very depressing. Looking from a non-American perspective, how divided the house is. What is worse, and I agree with previous comments, the level of partisanship the interviewers show is unbelievable, and they resort to the strategy of those who have no argument left, namely, label those they disagree.
I actually wish genuinely bright people from the right would quit appearing on these mindless programs. To lend these five imbeciles from ‘The View’ credibility is like lending credibility to the Obama Free Phone attendees or The Jerry Springer orgy.
Four liberal brains & a mouse vs. Ann Coulter with half her brain tied behind her back. Not a fair fight at all: to make it fair, the liberals need to go get a whole lot more brains. (Apologies to RL.) Hint to Behar & Goldberg: Don’t bring a knife to a gunfight.
Yes, rjr, smarmy, smirky Joy Behar introducing Ann Coulter as “controversial” was nice, wasn’t it? Joy, is Ann controversial because she does her homework & tells the truth about liberals? And yet, Obama, arguably the most divisive, polarizing, controversial President we’ve ever had, gets the royal treatment and they all swoon.
It is absolutely beyond me how this show has advertisers. But for Ann Coulter appearing in it, I couldn’t have watched the clip. Watching a brood of condescending, cackling hens isn’t my idea of how to spend (waste) an hour.
Mitt was right – the ladies on The View are part of the 47% that will vote Democrat regardless of circumstances. They are not interested in truth or facts so why bother trying to win them over. Focus on the 55% to 60% (at most) that would seriously consider voting Republican. That’s what elections are about.
This ‘birdbrain trust’ has a comprehensive knowlege and understanding of history that spans the vast timeline from the show start-time (today) until the last electron goes out to the cable line.
And we can be thankful for this minor limitation. if a little knowlege is a dangerous thing, fortunately, they have none, zilch, zip, zed, nada, none!
Think what could happen if someone informed them of the ‘forty acres and a mule’ promise made so many years ago.
“the View’ is direly in need of the services of a first class ophthalmologist!
