A mother and her children marched through a Target store to protest the company’s recent decision to allow men and women to use the bathrooms of their choice. The unidentified woman is shown in the video marching through the store (location unknown) waving her Bible and shouting at employees and customers alike.
“Attention Target customers,” she begins. “Do not be deceived. Target would have you believe with their Mother’s Day display that they love mothers and children. This is a deception. This is not love and they’ve proven it by opening their bathrooms to perverted men.”
The visibly angry woman, who says she’s a mother of twelve, is accompanied by a teenage boy, two young girls, and at least one man. She warns mothers to get their children out of the store and asks, “Are you going to let the devil rape your children, America?”
She vows not to spend a penny of her money at Target, calling what they’re doing with the bathrooms “wicked,” “confusion,” and “twisted.”
A man who was with her shouted, “Repent! The judgment of God is coming on this nation and on Target.”
Now, I’m no fan of Target’s decision to put political correctness and the transgender agenda above the safety of women and children in bathrooms. And, in fact, when I was in a Target store on Saturday I avoided using the restroom (and cut my shopping time short) for that very reason. And don’t even get me started on the girl at the checkout who was all decked out in a rainbow hat and a t-shirt emblazoned with a Target logo on the chest, half of which had been transformed into a rainbow, and an equality hashtag on the sleeve. (Message received: single-gender bathroom bigots like me should shop elsewhere.) I can (and will) vote with my wallet.
As a Christian, I’m all for preaching the gospel to people who need Jesus. However, an angry tirade in someone’s place of business is a poor platform for communicating that message—not to mention the fact that the woman wasn’t, actually … you know, preaching the gospel. She was ranting about bathrooms and waving the Bible but not actually talking about anything that’s in it. I’d be a little more sympathetic to her cause if she had opened that book and shared some truth from the word of God…and if she had done it somewhere else, not on Target property.
