An Obama Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand!

Past performance is no guarantee of future results, and once again another Obama statement reaches its expiration date:

“I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism.”

—Newly inaugurated President Barack Obama in April of 2009.

“I believe in American exceptionalism with every fiber of my being,” he said, referring to a tenet of conservative ideology.

Mr. Obama at West Point today. CNN’s leftwing editorializing is a nice touch, reminding you that the far left president still believes in the concept of American exceptionalism as much as anyone at Time-Warner-CNN-HBO does.

Which brings us to…

In a direct jab at his detractors, the President said those “who suggest that America is in decline, or has seen its global leadership slip away, are either misreading history or engaged in partisan politics.”

It’s rather nice of Obama in 2014 to take jabs at himself circa 2008, since he conspicuously allowed himself to be photographed in May of that year by the New York Times holding a copy of Time/CNN contributor and wannabe Obama advisor Fareed Zakaria’s book, The Post-American World.

What would happen if Obama Circa 2008 and Obama 2014 were to coexist? Perhaps one clue comes from sage postmodern philosopher George Costanza:

GEORGE: You have no idea of the magnitude of this thing. If she is allowed to infiltrate this world, then George Costanza as you know him, ceases to exist! You see, right now, I have Relationship George, but there is also Independent George. That’s the George you know, the George you grew up with — Movie George, Coffee shop George, Liar George, Bawdy George.

JERRY: I, I love that George.

GEORGE: Me Too! And he’s dying Jerry! If Relationship George walks through this door, he will kill Independent George! A George, divided against itself, cannot stand!

George also famously said in 1995, “Jerry, just remember: It’s not a lie, if you believe it,” thus foreshadowing the rise of the Obama Doctrine by about 13 years.
