The Moses of Our Time Explores the Memory Hole as Only He Can

May 30th, 2013 - 3:15 pm

“All of this took place in one hearing,” Ed Morrissey deadpans.

But then, who are we — who is Congress, particularly a GOP Congress – to judge The Moses of Our Time?

MSNBC contributor Michael Eric Dyson called Attorney General Eric Holder “the Moses of our time” Wednesday on “Martin Bashir”:

MARTIN BASHIR: Professor, we heard Mr. Sensenbrenner say the attorney general should stop down. Congressman Bob Goodlatte is also calling for resignation. Of course, he did that two years ago over fast and furious. Is this actually going to lead to something, do you think, or more of the same, more continuous calls for the attorney general to step down?

MICHAEL ERIC DYSON: I think the attorney general should step down to off of that plateau where he resides on high principle and whip some head. But he shouldn’t give up his office. What he should understand is that he is the chief law giver of the United States so to speak. He’s the Moses of our time and at least for this administration.

Wow, with an insight such as that, no wonder MSNBC is cleaning up in the ratings this month. And such a comparison makes perfect sense, considering that then-Newsweek editor Evan Thomas, back when the Washington Post owned the magazine, declared Holder’s boss to be God in 2009.  Those ten commandments aren’t going to deliver themselves to us.

No matter how much others at the Washington Post may hate them:

Exit question: Did the Moses of Our Time also lie to a judge when he was shopping for an OK to subpoena Fox reporter James Rosen’s records?

But then, there’s a lot of that going on this administration, as of late:

So if MSNBC is calling Holder 'Moses' today, does that mean 32 years from now he's going to be elected president of the National Rifle Association?
