The Continuing Misadventures of Morton Downey Morgan

“You can suck my ass!” E!’s Chelsea Handler tells Time-Warner-CNN-HBO spokesman Piers Morgan:

“Yes, you interviewed me last year on my anniversary,” Morgan replied, “which just proves one thing really. Well, it proves two things.”

“Let me guess,” Handler interrupted, “that you’re a better interviewer then I am.”

“That’s where I was going, yes,” Morgan arrogantly responded.

“I’m not pretending to be a great interviewer,” Handler said. “I’m not even pretending to be good at my job.”

“Both things clearly apparent today, but I can help you,” Morgan pompously declared.

“You can suck my ass,” replied Handler.

After some laughter, Morgan said, “Funny now, that was exactly what I was going to suggest.”

So a CNN anchor was going to suggest – on national television – that he suck the behind of am E! Entertainment host?

Coming one month after Kathy Griffin kissed Anderson Cooper’s crotch during CNN’s New Year’s Eve show, one has to wonder whether this is a news network or a porn channel.

Piers insults a female critic? How misogynist of him.

Oh, and just a reminder:

This, despite the fact that “Piers Morgan Slapped by RuPaul in Ratings.”

Update: Beyond Morgan being bested by RuPaul in the ratings, he’s also losing to both Rachel Maddow and Sean Hannity (to say nothing about Morgan’s ratings compared to those of his idol*, Bill O’Reilly), Greg Pollowitz writes at the NRO Media Blog. Pollowitz offers one solution for Morgan — tell more compelling stories:

What happened in Newtown, Conn., was a tragedy but isn’t it time for Morgan to move on? Like take his show on the road to Chicago where there’s a Newtown every month? Ah, but the problem with going to Chicago is that guns are already basically banned in the city. Decades of Morgan’s preferred progressive policies have failed to fix the problem.

Pollowitz describes the tragically short life of Hadiya Pendleton, the 15-year old student who performed with her school band at President Obama’s inauguration, before being gunned down earlier this week in a gang-infested Chicago park. Also writing about Pendleton, John Nolte adds at Big Government, “As we all know, the media has already made its choice. And if you’re wondering how they sleep at night, that’s an easy one. The murdered in Chicago aren’t victims; they’re sacrifices to The Cause.”
