…Unlike Joe Biden, be sure to memorize which sports team is which:

The Giants are going all the way!

That sentiment would draw cheers in San Francisco during the baseball season, but when it was shouted by Vice President Joe Biden during a campaign event Wednesday it drew jeers from the crowd.

The vice president, who is well known for his gaffes, mixed up the San Francisco baseball and football teams when trying to cheerlead for the 49ers before their playoff game showdown Sunday against the New York Giants.

Biden, speaking at an event in the Financial District in support of President Barack Obama’s re-election, told supporters that “the Giants are on their way to the Super Bowl.”

When the comment drew boos from the crowd, Biden quickly apologized, saying he was used to talking about the San Francisco Giants’ baseball victories.

I haven’t heard a gaffe like that since FDR went on ESPN in 1929 and confused the Frankford Yellow Jackets with the Staten Island Stapletons.

    What’s so totally rich is that there is only ONE pro football team on earth that shares a name with a San Francisco team, and that would be…. THE team that the Niners are facing this weekend! T’scha! Only Joe Biden could pulled off that.

    Oh, also….. former Democratic VP cvandidate John Edwards CRIMINAL CORRUPTION trial has been postponed.

    Annnd…. oh yeah, Sarah Palin is an idiot and totally unqualified to be vice-President, as our betters have repeatedly deigned to inform us.

    I’m sure he then met with a bunch of far left San Francisco Democrats and promised them he’d look into their concerns over the Wikileaks investigation and consider leniency for accused Army Pvt. Eli Manning.

    I’m really gonna miss Joltin’ Joe come next January. He’s clearly the best insurance policy Obama ever picked: a senile, doddering gaffe machine.

    Yeah, I get the Super Bowl and baseball mixed up all the time. And I’m not even a heartbeat from the presidency.
