2012 Battlefield Preparation

Moe Lane embeds a still photo and video of a union thug sucker-punching a conservative and writes, “This is kind of an iconic image, I think:”

Note, of course, that Mr. Tough Guy went for his target from behind, then ran like the sneak that he was. Video after the fold: I need hardly mention that this was unprovoked, deliberate… and about what you’d expect from organized labor these days. Verum Serum has more, including a video of a Bostonian counter-protester getting knocked to the ground. It’s getting to the point where video evidence of union violence is becoming so plentiful that I think that fronting it all at RedState will threaten to overwhelm the front page…

Written last week, even before all of the violent leftwing imagery made the rounds this weekend on new media, “Da Techguy” deposited “The Democrats in a Wisconsin mine field:”

While some members of the GOP are getting wobbilly, I say man up. The reason why the left and the unions are screaming so loud is because they are losing both the argument and the visuals: as Powerline puts it:

I agree with Roger that this is a watershed moment. I think it is George Will who supplies the appropriate term for what we are seeing: “reactionary liberalism.” The petulant public employee unions and their associated goons swarming the Wisconsin capitol remind me of nothing so much as George Wallace blocking the schoolhouse door against integration, or the scenes, played out on national television in the early 1960s, of Democratic politicians whipping up mobs and setting dogs on civil rights marchers in the South. It was a clear sign the old order, also dedicated to preserving illegitimate privilege, was collapsing.

These protests aren’t a sign of strength, they are signs of weakness as the union bosses can’t quietly slip in the goodies they want. Or as even EJ Dionne acknowledges (and deplores) the Tea Party is winning.

I’m not as certain of that yet, at least at the moment. But one thing is for sure — just as a lot of town hall video from the summer of 2009 reappeared on blogs and election commercials in the weeks before November of 2010, a big chunk of the B-roll for the 2012 election was shot this weekend. (In rather hostile conditions, needless to say. Which is why multiple cameras are a very good thing, whenever possible.)

By, according to Charlie Sykes, turning to GOP colleague Rep. Michelle Litjens after passage of the budget bill and telling her “You are f*&#@%! dead!” Hintz seems to have his own career mortality problems — follow that link.

Follow the link, and note the photos. If the report is true, then it seems like yet another case of scratch a progressive, find a misogynist.
