Well, So Much for ‘Politically Incorrect’
How Bill Maher finally learned to stop worrying and publicly embrace Political Correctness — not to mention Big Brother.
Andrew Breitbart dropped by Bill Maher’s Real Time on HBO tonight, and caused Maher to finally drop the mask — or as Noel Sheppard writes, “And here’s where it got good. Readers are strongly advised to watch the video to see Maher’s expression when Breitbart nails him:”
ANDREW BREITBART: So you’re, you’re officially not a Libertarian anymore, right? I mean, this position…
MAHER: Well..
BREITBART: …has run so far from the Libertarian position. Is this, so you admit that you have more of a, you know, European socialist leaning perspective on this issue?
(AUDIENCE LAUGHTER)
BREITBART: Why is that funny?
The look on Maher’s face at this moment said it all:
MAHER: I’m, I’m not afraid, it’s not, I’m not afraid to say European socialism works.
As Noel adds, “Exactly. Quite a strange position for a man that claims to be a Libertarian.”
Will the last person in Old Media who hides behind the thin veil of “objectivity” please turn out the Al Gore-approved twisty bulb florescent lights?
Saying “European socialism works” is tantamount to saying “I am brain damaged.”
Perhaps more revealing is the incisive “Couldn’t we just wait until after 2014 to see if we like it?” analysis on ObamaCare.
Sort of saying, “I have just been diagnosed with Stage Three Lung Cancer, couldn’t we wait until I get to Stage Four before I decide that smoking three packs a day isn’t such a swell idea?”
Look, I believe I have a solution. All those who want to wait six months to see a doctor, while they cough up a lung can opt in for ObamaCare and the Invisible Nanny will take your number and call you when it’s time to see the government hack who graduated at the bottom of his class in Funafuti, Tuvalu medical school.
Insurance is a risk pool. Please, jump in at your pleasure. You mark on your tax form that you wish to be a participant in the National Free Clinic and all those who think it’s a swell idea, can join in your risk pool.
The rest of us, wish you luck. It’s nice being an organ donor and we congratulate you on doing this while you are still technically alive, albeit, with rather conclusive signs of being brain dead.
Maher’s answer was sort of like Pelosi’s, “…we’ll know what’s in it (the bill), after we pass it.” Well now that’s enlightening. No wonder the Democrat Congress has an 18% approval rating! They pass any bill, especially long ones, willy nilly, so long as their leadership tells them to.
We, the people, are ALREADY getting hit with larger increases in the cost of our health care. We don’t have to wait until 2014.
What’s more, small businesses are finding that they cannot afford either the cost or the paper work involved, so they have to drop whatever health care they were providing. This, of course, is EXACTLY what the leftist Liberals wanted. Insurance companies will drop out so there will eventually be one payer insurance, i.e., the government.

An even better analogy: “…before deciding that I should fire the witch doctor and see an oncologist”
There are a lot of leftists who pose as libertarians.
The person who will turn out the light will need a flashlight to find it.
Most of Europe isn’t really any more socialistic than the US, even under Bush. America has always been more culturally Marxist than Europe.
Kind of funny – You can’t call Dumycrats what they really are: liberals, socialists, redistibutors, marxists, etc. – because everyone knows what they espouse has failed everywhere it’s done. Maher only calls himself a “libertarian” because he wants legalized drugs and prostitution, but he also uses it to be a “truth teller” not beholden to one side, and obviously too smart to be constrained by a single party’s views.
He’s really just another dumb schmuck democrat who’s mastered three or four circular logic arguments to put foes off their point. But as long as he’s trying to make conservatives look bad (who really should know better and be prepared for these stupid arguments – let’s give it 5 years then judge it!) he’ll always have a show and as many platforms he can leave the Playboy mansion to show up on.
So, it turns out “Politically Incorrect” really isn’t. What a surprise.
