To update my earlier post on the topic, it turns out that the former Russ Meyer protege did indeed know exactly what the phrase means. (Not sure why Ebert is demonstrating a latent comstockian prudery regarding the phrase now though. Maybe he’ll explore that in depth with Retracto.)
