NBC's Today Show Promotes Prominent 9/11 Truther

Rosie O’Donnell? Charlie Sheen? No, Howard Zinn:

NBC’s Today show had venerable leftist Howard Zinn on — and the appearance was not without some controversy. Zinn was promoting a documentary he produced called “The People Speak” which “depicts pivotal moments in American history from ordinary people. Bringing it to life are a host of noted musicians and actors, including Viggo Mortensen, Bruce Springsteen, Danny Glover, Marisa Tomei and Matt Damon, one of the producers of the film.” (For what it’s worth, Damon grew up next door to Zinn in Boston — which is why his supposedly super genius character in the Oscar-winning Good Will Hunting recommends Zinn‘s A People’s History of the United States in the film — a book that is a Freshman history assignment at best and ahistorical lefty claptrap at worst.)

The documentary sounds anodyne enough, but if you knew anything about Zinn you’d know respectable news outlets probably shouldn’t touch him with a 10-foot pole. Does NBC have any clue whose views they are promoting here? Do they know Zinn went on Iranian television and blamed America for September 11? Do they know Zinn is a 9/11 “Truther” who endorses the view that the U.S. government may have been behind the attacks on September 11?

NBC did not respond to the Examiner’s request for comment on Zinn’s appearence.

Andrew Breitbart adds, “Zinn, Chomsky & Soros all represent a bizarre power axis of Israel bashing and Jewish self-loathing that is eerily represented in the cocky-in-their-lack-of-education Zinn-promoting Hollywood left. Glad there’s finally a place we can call out this crap.”
