Noel Sheppard of Newsbusters asks, “Did you know that when you refer to someone as a socialist, you’re really calling them the N-word?”:

Such an astonishing hypothesis was offered by MSNBC’s Carlos Watson Monday in a segment he refers to as “The ‘C’ Note.”

Potentially even more shocking, after Watson offered this seemingly absurd opinion, Mort Zuckerman actually agreed with him (video embedded below the fold with partial transcript, h/t HotAirPundit).

Really? That would be a pretty shocking development to the guys at Newsweek, whose used gigantic block letters on a cover story back in February to announce, paraphrasing Carlos and Mort, We’re All The N-Word Now:

Update: AllahPundit proposes “a thought experiment”:

If the very caucasian President Hillary had pushed through an $800 billion stimulus atrocity, taken control of General Motors and fired the company’s chairman, passed cap-and-trade, and then made her move on universal health care, you think any angry conservatives might have dropped the S-bomb on her? Have conservatives ever been known to call Hillary Clinton a socialist in the past, perchance? Then there’s your answer.

Oh and speaking of Hillary, she’s Keyser Söze, Rick James, Gumby, secretary of state, dammit!
