Jack Kemp Passed Away

May 2, 2009 - 7:31 pm - by Ed Driscoll

Found on Twitter, the Wall Street Journal reports that Jack Kemp, the former NFL and AFL quarterback, congressman, and GOP vice presidential candidate in 1996 passed away at age 73. Sadly, the great free-market champion had been diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the year.

Kemp “should have led the ticket in ’96″ Patrick Ruffini adds, noting that “Kemp was probably the first political figure to get me excited about being a Republican.”
