There are a couple of problems with that (PC) explanation. First, discrimination against women also exists in poor Muslim countries. (Remember what the Taliban did to their women?)
Second, there has always been discrimination against women in Islam, since long before petroleum became important and valuable a century and a half ago.
It’s staggering the lengths the MSM will go to in order to defend/cover up/ignore the crueler aspects of those who follow radical Islamic principles. The funny thing is — at least MSNBC addressed the issue … but they had to run with the phoniest explanation possible rather than tell some cold, hard truths.
