Really a Fire Update

No map yet — the Hayman Fire perimeter remains unchanged from yesterday. Thursday’s cooler weather helped a lot, and even did wonders for dinner.

The damn thing still isn’t under much of any kind of control. It’s like a hyperactive two-year-old on one of those abhorrent kiddie leashes you sometimes see icky mothers use at the mall. It darts about here and there, and just when you think it’s reached its limit, the cord unwinds just a little more out of the reel.

Somebody needs to smack that kid. And the mother, too.
