On New Year’s Eve, CNN aired a brief and creepy interview with a former “Saturday Night Live!” cast member. The short clip will go down in history as a notable exhibit of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

“My New Year’s resolution is to make sure that the Republican Party dies,” Jane Curtin eerily declares in perfect deadpan. In fact, the deadpan is far too perfect.

Cameron Gray caught the moment in a 6-second video clip that has racked up nearly 400,000 views on Twitter.

Curtin has been dubbed the “Queen of the Deadpan,” and The Philadelphia Inquirer called her a “refreshing drop of acid.” She came to prominence as an original cast member of SNL in 1975 and won two Emmy Awards for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for the 1980s sitcom “Kate & Allie” (1984-1989). Curtin later starred in “3rd Rock from the Sun” (1996-2001).

Now Curtin’s deadpan will forever be associated with Trump Derangement Syndrome and the last polarizing moments of 2018. As for her “New Year’s resolution” … I’m sure the GOP will be alive and well in 2020.
