On Monday night, late-night host Stephen Colbert went on an insult spree against President Donald Trump, ostensibly to defend the honor of “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson. Trump did attack Dickerson as a purveyor of “fake news” and called his show “Deface the Nation,” but Colbert went well beyond the lines of civil discourse in his “response.”
“Mr. President, I love your presidency, I call it ‘Disgrace The Nation.’ You’re not the POTUS, you’re the gloat-us,” Colbert sneered. “You’re the glutton with the button. You’re a regular Gorge Washington. You’re the presi-dunce but you’re turning into a real prick-tator.”
This slew of ad hominems was just the beginning, however. Colbert continued, “You attract more skinheads than free Rogaine. You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign-language gorilla that got hit in the head.”
Then, the disgusting, disgraceful finale: “In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s cock holster.”
As Josh Jordan pointed out, “If a late-night host had said this about Obama, every activist group in the country would be calling for their job — and they’d get it.”

This isn’t just disrespect, it’s disgraceful. Is Colbert trying to be Joss Whedon?
