ORLANDO, FL — At a panel about the Left’s crackdown on free speech featuring the Wall Street Journal‘s Kimberley Strassel and Watchdog.org’s Matt Kittle, one man spoke out against Trump, saying the he uses the very tactics of the Left in silencing dissent.
The Trump critic noted how liberals would attack conservatives with the mechanisms of government, that “the process is the punishment.” He attacked the Republican nominee for doing this himself. “Mr Trump was interviewed about his 43-year habit of filing defamation suits against people who have criticized him, and he says — and I’m quoting him directly, word for word — ‘even if I’m not going to win, I do it because at least that way you can inflict pain.'” The man didn’t get the quote right, but he did capture the spirit of Trump’s behavior.
Here’s how the crowd responded:

If you listen closely, you can hear the moderator, Americans for Prosperity Director of Public Affairs Levi Russell, saying: “This is a free speech panel, we do not shout each other down.” This statement received loud applause.
