Security experts tell us “if you see something, say something.”

Well, a mother who was at the Ariana Grande concert with her daughter last night saw something and said something, but nothing was done about it.  Dawn Waddy told Sky News she saw a suspicious woman sitting by herself, “smirking” and “fidgeting” with her backpack. She said she reported her concerns to security personnel, but no action was taken and the woman was able to get up and leave shortly before the concert ended.

Sky News:

“We had somebody sat next to us, looked very suspicious, she was fidgeting all the time with a bag – on the floor, across her – she was by herself.”

“She was looking in the direction of where the explosion actually happened all night and smirking to herself.”

Mrs [sic] Waddy told security personnel of her concerns and staff monitored the woman but did not take any action.

She said: “They were up and down the stairs where she was sat discreetly watching her. Nothing was actually done about it.

“One to two minutes before the concert finished this lady disappeared and then of course the explosion went off at the other end of the stadium.”

Waddy went on to tell the Sky News reporter that she didn’t think Security took her seriously because of how they treated her daughter after she got up and complained about the creepy woman, too.  “My daughter… had gotten upset about things and she went to Security and they basically told her, ‘how would you like it if someone accused you of this?’ She added, “Nothing was done about it.”

Waddy and other concert-goers complained to reporters that no security checks were carried out as they entered the venue.

She said: “We walked through the doors when we had our tickets and they scan your tickets and we wasn’t even checked.

“They never checked bags at all, I never saw them check anybody’s bags.”

Another woman said there was only a cursory search of bags as people entered the arena.

Nikola Trochtova told Czech public radio: “There was almost no security check, rather zero. They let us get in without any check if we have anything with us.

“The only thing they were interested in was if we had any bottles of water with us. They almost didn’t check our bags, they didn’t take a look.”

The suspect responsible for the suicide bombing has been identified by police as 22-year-old Salman Abedi, another “known-wolf terrorist.”

British Prime Minister Theresa May said that investigations were ongoing as to whether Abedi had acted alone: “The work undertaken throughout the day has revealed that it is a possibility we cannot ignore that there is a wider group of individuals linked to this attack.”

May has raised the terrorist threat level in Britain to the highest level and warned that another terrorist attack may be “imminent.”
