Obama, Four Years Into His Presidency: 'At Some Point, We've Got to Govern'

The GOP response ought to be, “What’s with this ‘we’ business, pal?'” The Republicans have been in Washington hoping to work on a budget, work on a spending deal, work on anything. President Obama hasn’t even submitted a budget in years, and instead of working on avoiding the sequestration cuts, he’s out flitting about the country campaigning again, denouncing the people he’s supposed to be governing with.

But this is what he said yesterday afternoon.

“There are always going to be some areas where we have genuine disagreement … but there are more areas where we can do a lot more cooperating than we have seen in the past couple years,” Obama told a meeting of the National Governors Association at the White House.

“At some point, we’ve got to do some governing. And, certainly, we can’t keep careening from manufactured crisis to manufactured crisis.”

Yeah. At some point. Barack Obama will fit governing in between campaigning, golf, vacations, golf, movie nights, White House parties, vacactioning, skeets, and golf. Eventually.
