Georgia Supreme Court upholds Voter ID law

The Georgia Supreme Court today upheld the law which requires photo identification to vote.  This law was the focus of years of nasty fights in state and federal court.  After smears of ID supporters, and those in the Justice Department who approved the Georgia laws in 2005 and 2006, the saga has finally ended with full judicial support for the law.  Both federal and state courts have ruled Georgia’s law constitutional.  Who are the losers today?  The NAACP, Common Cause and Julie Fernandes, the scandal-plagued Deputy Assistant Attorney General who oversees the Voting Section at DOJ.  You can watch her rail against voter identification laws here.
