The Lakers put it all together last night and rolled over the Denver Nuggets and into the NBA finals. (Yes, as you can see from the link, I still read the LAT – the sports section anyway – although I have problems with that too. TJ Simers, one of their writers, is almost as narcissistic as… Oh, I won’t say it.) I must say I am very relieved. As I have written previously, I am a fan of the team to the point of thralldom. Why? It still beats me. But sometimes it’s so bad that I won’t watch for a quarter or two because I can’t stand to see them lose. Then I will peak at the score online and, if they’re doing okay, switch on the TV. Crazy? I guess…
Anyway, I’m happy now and was even able to enjoy the goofy Muppet Lebron-Kobe commercials. Will Lebron make it to the finals too for a dream finale? It’s possible, of course, but I suspect not. I also suspect that the Lakers will have trouble with Dwight Howard – but that they will win!!!!
