Rep. Keith Ellison Is Brain Dead

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), the deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said in an interview with Tikkun Magazine that having national borders is a “cause of injustice.”

Now, the question isn’t whether Ellison is brain dead. The question is whether we should compassionately remove him from life support.

The Daily Wire:

“Since NAFTA, Mexican wages have dropped between nine and thirteen percent,” Ellison began. “Now, some people have said to me, oh, Keith, that’s too bad for them. And my answer is, no that’s too bad for us because that means those people are going to be a low wage sector not only in Mexico, but here in the United States. And the undocumented worker is an exploited worker.”

“We just have to say that the 12 million undocumented people in the United States are here because somebody wants them to be,” Ellison continued. “But they want them here to do the work, but they don’t want them to get any rights. They don’t want to pay them fairly.”

Ellison added: “And labor, which is a regular person, cannot travel back and forth across the border. And so corporations, certain people who get certain rights, can go back and forth across the border seeking out the lowest wages, but people, regular people, cannot go back and forth across the border seeking out the highest wages. So what it creates is an imbalance. It creates an injustice.”

Some might observe that Ellison is not brain dead because, obviously, he is walking and talking, just like any other person.

But as the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz sagely observed, “Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking.” Ellison’s mouth may be moving and sounds may be coming out, but even people with half a brain know the second-highest ranking Democratic Party official in the land is talking gibberish.

Ellison’s “theories” about labor acquisition would even make a communist ashamed. In fact, our Mexican brothers and sisters regularly go back and forth across the border with relative ease — rights or no rights. Indeed, they do so to seek “the highest wages” they can get.

I would also point out there are very few corporations that travel across the border seeking out illiterate Mexican peasants, urging them to enter the U.S. illegally to work in high-tech factories.

Ellison is from a super safe Democratic district in Minnesota, so it hardly matters what idiocy he spouts — and he does so on a regular basis. But as a high-ranking DNC official, it might be advantageous for Republicans to publicize Mr. Ellison’s deep, deep thoughts on the border being an “injustice.”
