The RNC Is Already Preparing an Ad Targeting Sen. Menendez if He's Convicted

Releasing the ad a day early, the Republican National Committee is already targeting Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ). They’re trying to get the Democratic Party to demand his resignation. Menendez has been charged with accepting luxurious bribes in exchange for favors on the Senate floor. And he hasn’t been convicted yet, but there’s already this advertisement. If he were to resign, the governor of New Jersey, Republican Chris Christie, would get to select his successor. And the RNC would definitely appreciate this outcome, as it would improve their majority in the Senate.
