Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other foreign leaders laughed at President Donald Trump speaking to the press for more than 40 minutes before his meeting with Trudeau.

“He was late because he takes a 40-minute press conference at the top,” Trudeau said of Trump at the summit. “You just watched his team’s jaws drop to the floor.”

U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson can be seen on video laughing at Trudeau’s comments but later said it was “complete nonsense” to suggest that they do not take Trump seriously.

Despite this, former Vice President Joe Biden, a 2020 presidential candidate, put out a campaign ad using Trudeau’s hot-mic moment to criticize Trump and paint himself as more respected on the world stage.

“The world is laughing at President Trump. They see him for what he really is: dangerously incompetent and incapable of world leadership,” Biden wrote in a post with the campaign ad that uses the video of Trudeau, Johnson and others.

On Thursday, Biden tweeted a photo of himself and Trudeau and wrote, “We need a president who is respected on the world stage.”
