While most on the left have claimed that there was nothing inappropriate about Hunter Biden’s $80,000+/month position on the board of Burisma Holdings, it says a lot when the reliably anti-Trump talk show “The View” have hosts breaking ranks and seeing it for what it is.
“Look, the Hunter Biden thing, there’s a legitimate issue there,” said Ana Navarro during Friday’s episode. “I think that Joe Biden is going to have to answer that. I think that it doesn’t pass the smell test.”
She wasn’t alone, either. “The Burisma thing is nepotism,” said Joy Behar. “And let’s just call it what it is. It’s just nepotism.”
This is remarkable. Not only have weeks of impeachment hearings improved Trump’s polling in key swing states, but it appears that Republicans have effectively communicated to the American people, even hosts on “The View,” that there was something seriously sketchy about Hunter Biden’s position at Burisma. As for voters, Biden once enjoyed a 20-point lead in South Carolina, and now only leads Bernie Sanders by a mere 7 points, according to a new poll.
South Carolina is a must-win for Joe Biden, who, despite leading in the national polls, is having a hard time in Iowa and New Hampshire, and losses in those states will certainly resonate in Nevada and South Carolina, where it appears his comfortable leads aren’t so comfortable anymore. Biden once had a commanding leading in New Hampshire, but eventually was passed by Sanders. But, once impeachment hearings started, Biden dropped from second place to fourth place, and is now in third, behind Buttigieg and Sanders.
It’s ironic, isn’t it? Democrats are impeaching Trump for suggesting there be an investigation into Biden and his son over Burisma, and yet their efforts to protect the “frontrunner” for the Democratic nomination might just destroy his presidential ambitions by giving Republicans a highly watched platform to present the facts about Hunter Biden to the public.
