Former Obama admin. Veep Joe Biden is set to announce his candidacy today. This brings the total number of Democrat candidates to 21. 21!

Biden is very popular among the Democrats but he will face resistance from the radical elements in the party who care mostly about skin color, gender and sexual preference. And free stuff. The sad fact is Joe is an old, white guy. He also likes to touch people.

He must convince a Democratic Party pulsating with forces of youth, gender and racial diversity that is moving left on health care and college funding to ultimately turn to a traditional middle-of-the road nominee to take on President Donald Trump.

Biden is an aging white male, a physically expressive old-school pol with a nose for the ideological center who still believes a political opponent is not a blood enemy.

“We can’t be divided by race, religion, by tribe,” Biden said last month. Oh Joe, get woke. That’s your party’s platform now along with wealth distribution.

Presidential harassment beat

Yesterday we saw more developments on the presidential harassment front. The president announced that the White House will fight all the nuisance subpoenas the Democrats are firing off. Good.

“We’re fighting all the subpoenas,” the president added. “These aren’t like impartial people. The Democrats are trying to win 2020. They’re not going to win with the people that I see. And they’re not gonna win against me. The only way they can maybe luck out, and I don’t think that’s gonna happen – it might make it even the opposite, that’s what a lot of people are saying – the only way they can luck out is by constantly going after me on nonsense.”

Do the voters care about Trump refusing to cooperate with the House Democrats’ attempt to re-do the Mueller investigation? I say no. He was cleared and there’s no reason to call all the same people and ask all the same questions again except to continue the political spectacle. Howie Kurtz writes:

But all of this may become background noise to average voters, already numbed by two years of constant investigations and media scrutiny of this president. They may not share the view that constitutional principles and the separation of powers are on the line. If the whole back-and-forth seems unduly partisan, many may dismiss the rhetoric as just more game-playing in a hyperpolarized capital.

Indeed.

Hillary Clinton decided to talk about impeachment, Mueller report

Failed candidate Hillary Clinton decided the world needed to know her thoughts on the Mueller report and the possible impeachment of Trump. Why? No one cares what she thinks. She presented her brain dump an op-ed in the Washington Post. Fitting.

“Our election was corrupted, our democracy assaulted, our sovereignty and security violated. This is the definitive conclusion of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s report. It documents a serious crime against the American people,” Clinton wrote in The Washington Post.

Who was the president when all these horrible things happened?

“The debate about how to respond to Russia’s ‘sweeping and systemic’ attack — and how to hold President Trump accountable for obstructing the investigation and possibly breaking the law — has been reduced to a false choice: immediate impeachment or nothing. History suggests there’s a better way to think about the choices ahead.”

Wait, what? The report did not determine Trump obstructed justice, why should he be held “accountable” for it? Mueller’s jobs was to bring charges or not bring charges. He did not bring charges.

“My perspective is not just that of a former candidate and target of the Russian plot. I am also a former senator and secretary of state who served during much of Vladimir Putin’s ascent, sat across the table from him and knows firsthand that he seeks to weaken our country,” she said.

So what did Hillary do to stop Putin as Sec. of State, other than send Bill over there to rake in some cash money for a speech? The interference didn’t just start with Trump. In fact, Hillary, the Democrats and the media had a big guffaw at Mitt Romey’s expense during the 2012 election when he said the RUSSIANS were the greatest threat facing America.

Hypocrites.
