More Embarrassing Posts From Joy Reid's Defunct Blog Surface

Newly unearthed posts from MSNBC host Joy Reid’s now-defunct blog are causing major embarrassment and heartburn for the “AM Joy” host and her network. Last month, when a number of problematic posts were discovered showing Reid defending homophobia, making gay jokes, and mocking homosexuality, she denied ownership of the posts and tried to claim that she had been hacked. Nobody believed her.

A decade ago, Reid seemed to be pre-occupied with bashing gays.

Additional politically incorrect posts have been discovered in the past week, revealing the former blogger to be a 9/11 truther who once ripped migrant workers and posted a photoshopped picture of John McCain as the Virginia Tech shooter.

Fox News’s Tucker Carlson said Reid’s anti-immigration posts made her “look like a prophet calling for America First policies.”

One post described how migrant workers and illegal immigrants should not be employed to rebuild New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

The post said “American citizens evacuated from there” should be the ones paid to rebuild their own city.

BuzzFeed, meanwhile, dug up a post from the spring of 2006, in which Reid shared “Loose Change 9/11,” Alex Jones’ widely debunked documentary about the downing of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.

Reid’s post, titled “The official story,” links to the 80-minute Infowars web video about the attacks that killed 3,000 people. The documentary was originally released in 2005 and alleged that the terrorist attacks were planned by the American government.

“The fundamental question is: do you believe the official story of 9/11?” the post reads. “If you do, great. If you don’t, then everything that happened after that is called into serious question. Even if you’re agnostic, or you tend to believe that al-Qaida attacked the World Trade Center and Pentagon and that the government had no warning such a thing could happen, it’s worth taking a second look. Here’s the link.”

Reid shared more of her suspicions about 9/11 in a post titled “Flashback: September 30, 2001” in March of 2006,

Reid’s blog notes that the US government identified the plotters suspiciously soon. It then repeats common truther questions about the collapse of the WTC 7 building, which was not hit by an airplane.

“For that matter, why did any of the WTV [sic] buildings fall…?” Reidblog states. “Somehow I think it will be a generation before we get the full story on what happened on 9/11?”

In another post unearthed this week by BuzzFeed News, Reid published a bizarre image of Senator John McCain’s head photoshopped onto the body of the Virginia Tech shooter Seung-Hui Cho.

McCain was on the presidential campaign trail in the fall of 2007, and had apparently been talking tough about catching al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. For that, he was roundly ridiculed by the left.

In the October 2007 post, titled “Baghdad John Strikes Again,” Reid mocked McCain’s boast at a small weapons factory that he would “follow Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell and … shoot him with your products.”

In a follow-up interview McCain had to explain to liberal reporters that he wasn’t literally going to follow bin Laden to the gates of hell and shoot him himself, which Reid said “made it worse” somehow.

It’s unclear from the post if the photoshopped image was created by Reid, shared by her from another source, or inserted by a hacker. Reverse image searches of the photo on Google and TinEye yielded no previously published matches elsewhere.

In a satirical post from 2005 titled “Postmark America,” the MSNBC host viciously gay-baited Tony Blair’s son Euan, pretending that he visited bathhouses in the U.S. while interning for former Calif. Republican Rep. David Dreier, who was rumored to be gay.

Here’s a sample of what passed for humor in liberal circles at the time:

Representative Dreier tells me I fit right in Capitol Hill — called me a right young Republican, he did. He said my conservative dark suit and tie, and my clean cut appearance made me very appealing to him — said it made me look masculine, yet boyish — even commented on my creamy skin — dunno why he focused on that… and my soft hands and perfumy smelling hair… That David — he said I could call him David — sure is a capitol bloke (hey, that was a bit of a joke, yeah?)

He’s so nice to me, he even offered to give me a massage after we’d had a particularly tough day, dealing with the Democrats on the rules committee. He went so far out of his way, I thought he’d never stop rubbing! Made a bit of a noise whilst he was at it, but no matter… They’re so nasty to him, those Democrats: kept calling him ‘Mrs. Schwarzenegger’ behind his back and playing the wedding march whenever he and I leave a room.

Funny stuff, no?

The onetime serial gay-basher is now a dogmatic leftist and hero of the #Resistance movement who rushes to condemn people on the right when they say something that crosses the politically correct line.

In fact, after Roseanne Barr’s now infamous racist tweet earlier this week, Reid took part in an MSNBC panel blaming President Trump for “the tone of racism and incivility” in the country. But the tone of incivility has been rampant in the United States for quite some time — as evidenced by Joy Reid’s own blog.

Reid and her network MSNBC deserve every bit of shame and embarrassment they are experiencing right now over her former blog ramblings.

Neither Reid nor MSNBC has responded to BuzzFeed’s requests for comment.
