After Last Night, I’m Convinced the Democratic Party Is Evil

President Trump's address to Congress last night was a testament to American exceptionalism, but you wouldn't know it from the sour faces of Democrats who refused to applaud even the most basic American values. I watched in disgust as these partisan hacks remained glued to their seats while the president celebrated achievements any reasonable American would cheer.

We knew Democrats were going to find various ways to protest Trump's speech, but they managed to be even more shameful than we could have predicted. A CNN poll found that 80% of viewers thought Rep. Al Green's behavior was inappropriate.

But, of course, there was more to the Democrats' shameful display than Green's embarrassing outbursts.

When Trump announced that ISIS terrorist Mohammad Sharifullah, the mastermind behind the Abbey Gate bombing that killed 13 American service members, had been captured, Democrats sat on their hands.

Leftists' contempt for American prosperity was on full display as they refused to applaud Trump's calls to lower middle-class taxes, cut job-killing regulations, and bring manufacturing back home. They did not react to ending taxes on tips — even though they liked it when Kamala stole the idea during the 2024 campaign — or on overtime and seniors' Social Security. Maybe Democrats prefer American workers paying more to the government?

Democrats apparently couldn’t even agree that cop killers deserve the death penalty. Their silence was deafening when Trump celebrated removing murderous illegal aliens from our streets and securing our border. There was no applause from their side of the aisle for designating the Tren de Aragua gang as a foreign terrorist organization or waging war on drug cartels poisoning our communities.

Naturally, Democrats refused to stand up for defending basic biological reality. Trump received thunderous applause from Republicans when he recognized only two sexes and protecting women's sports, while Democrats sat stone-faced. They couldn't bring themselves to support ending the sexual mutilation of America's children or protecting our youth from radical gender ideology. Trump's declaration that America's youth are "perfect as God made them" was met with more Democratic scowls.

Some might argue that this simply reflects Democratic opposition to Trump’s policies, but what about the undeniably nonpartisan moments?

Democrats couldn't even muster any joy for things that any American should be happy for or empathy for those who have suffered great loss. Their petulant display last night proves they're more interested in resistance than unity.

Indeed, the most disturbing was watching how Democrats couldn't even muster the decency to stand for a young boy fighting brain cancer, the family of Laken Riley, murdered by an illegal alien who should never have been in our country in the first place, or the wife and daughter of Corey Comperatore, who was killed during Trump’s rally in Butler, Pa., in July. They also couldn’t even applaud the safe return of hostage Marc Fogel or the young student Trump announced was just accepted to West Point.

By the time Trump was wrapping up his address, many Democrats had already walked out in protest. The American people witnessed a stark contrast: Republicans standing for American values while Democrats literally turned their backs on our country's greatness.

The American people are watching, and they're not impressed.
