The Other Way Biden Ruined Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family and be thankful for the things you have, and I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving. There’s a time and a place for everything, and while this may be a trying time for our country, with a floundering economy and war in the Middle East, Thanksgiving ought to be a time when families can get get together and focus on what unites them, not divides them.

That is, of course, unless you’re the Biden campaign.

I was beyond disgusted Thursday morning to see that the Biden campaign decided to politicize Thanksgiving by posting talking points for its supporters to use at the Thanksgiving dinner table.

Remember when Joe Biden promised to be a president for all Americans? That was funny, wasn’t it? Because well before he even took office he was denigrating Trump supporters--and he hasn’t stopped since.

It’s a pretty pathetic list of comments and potential responses, too.

For example, in response to comments like “The economy was better during Trump!” the first bullet reads: “Wrong."

Wow. Was that the best response they could come up with? It had other responses too, mostly regurgitations of previously debunked claims about the Biden economy and inflation.

In response to “Trump’s going to protect our Social Security and Medicare!” the Biden campaign recommends saying, “Are you kidding me?"

The other bullet points are even more pathetic. And the thread includes more childish and factually incorrect talking points on border security, abortion, foreign affairs, jobs, and even political polling. You know, the things that Americans really have no interest in talking about at the Thanksgiving dinner table. In fact, a new Quinnipiac poll found that 61% of Americans "are hoping to avoid discussing politics while visiting with family or friends this Thanksgiving.”

I guess the Biden campaign didn’t get the message.

The Trump campaign, however, merely released a Thanksgiving video message from President Trump.

"I want to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving,” Trump begins. "Today as we gather with our loved ones, we give thanks to Almighty God for His many blessings, including our families, our friends, our neighbors, and this extraordinary country that we all call home. We also send our deep gratitude to all of the Patriots serving our nation in uniform this Thanksgiving, including the members of the U.S. Armed Forces, the heroes of border patrol and law enforcement and ICE and everybody that works so hard to preserve our system and our country, and working to defend our southern border, and our police and first responders and communities all across America."

Trump concluded the message by saying, "This is a difficult time for our country but do not lose heart or lose hope. Because by the time we celebrate next Thanksgiving, our nation will be well on its way to being stronger, safer, more prosperous, and greater than ever before. Once again, happy Thanksgiving and God bless you all."

And that was the most political his Thanksgiving message got.

Americans are already struggling in this economy, as inflation is still higher today than it was when Biden took office. Everything, including food, is more expensive. Did Biden really have to add insult to injury by providing his supporters with lame, bunk talking points that can only contribute to unnecessary division at the Thanksgiving dinner table?

For someone who claimed to be a uniter, you’d expect something better than that.
