Have you noticed that Senator Mitt Romney (R-Utah) seems to only make headlines by speaking out against President Trump? Last week, he said he doesn’t plan to endorse Trump in 2020. In the wake of the phony whistleblower scandal, Romney once again made headlines by echoing Democrats. He hasn’t called for impeachment but has entertained the idea that Trump may have done something improper.
“If the President asked or pressured Ukraine’s president to investigate his political rival, either directly or through his personal attorney, it would be troubling in the extreme,” Romney tweeted on Sunday. “Critical for the facts to come out.”

As facts have been trickling out, it seems increasingly clear that this whistleblower “scandal” isn’t a Trump scandal at all. The so-called whistleblower doesn’t even have firsthand knowledge of the offending call. President Trump has denied any quid pro quo, and the Ukranian foreign minister has also said there was no pressure by Trump to investigate the Bidens in exchange for aid of any kind. Trump has also indicated a willingness to release a transcript of the call in question. As someone who voted for Mitt Romney for governor of Massachusetts and for President of the United States, it pains me to see him repeatedly giving the left anti-Trump fodder in exchange for their respect.
President Trump clearly doesn’t care for it either. On Monday evening, he posted the following video on Twitter, trolling Romney:

The video shows a sullen Romney on Election Night 2012, a voice off-camera saying, “I can’t believe you’re gonna lose,” with Romney responding, “Yeah.” Then we’re treated to clips of media coverage from that night, which is followed by a video of Trump saying, “That was a race, I have to say, folks, that should have been one.” The media clips that follow are from Election Night 2016, when Trump beat Hillary Clinton.
The message from Trump to Romney couldn’t be any clearer. You gotta admit, it’s an epic trolling.
