Boxer Tears Into Fiorina for 'How Selfish She Is as a Human Being'

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) declared that Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) vice presidential pick Carly Fiorina “would be really good for the Democrats” because “I mean it, I beat her by one million votes” in their 2010 Senate race.

Boxer began trolling her former foe on Twitter as soon as news broke Wednesday that Cruz was bringing Carly on board.

“Slogan idea for the Cruz/Fiorina ‘ticket’: ‘Mean & Meaner,'” Boxer tweeted, followed by, “Cruz/Fiorina= a perfect match. He wants to ship immigrants out and she’s a champion at shipping jobs out.”

“Cruz thinks Fiorina will help in California. Maybe he doesn’t know Carly left after she lost by a million votes?” Boxer continued. “I predict that the latest merger will be as successful as her last one. Fiorina is only person in America to think HP-Compaq was ‘most successful’ merger ever. Just ask HP shareholders, whose stock dropped 50%.”

On MSNBC today, Boxer continued her line of attack, calling it “disingenuous” when Fiorina has noted that Donald Trump “clearly has a problem with women.”

“She has now agreed to be the vice presidential running mate of Ted Cruz who, as I understand it, does not have the nomination yet,” Boxer said. “But that aside, he has one of the worst records on women’s issues. He would make it a crime for women to exercise her reproductive freedom, even in the cases of rape and incest. He has not supported raising women’s wages for the same jobs as men.”

“And when she talks about how qualified she is, she hasn’t held office, any office, be it Senate, House, state legislature, local government, not a minute’s worth, and her claim to fame is running a large corporation which she practically destroyed, Hewlett-Packard, the pride of California. The fact is the stock went down 50 percent under her leadership. So, all of her comments are off base, including saying that Hillary Clinton says ‘vote for me because I’m a woman.'”

Boxer declared that Clinton “says the opposite.”

“She says don’t vote for me because I’m a woman, understand we will make history, but vote for me because of what I stand for. So, the whole thing is disingenuous and I think it just shows Ted Cruz has no judgment whatsoever by choosing her,” she added.

The senator, who is retiring this year, struck a Bernie Sanders tone and called Fiorina “the face of corporate greed.”

“So, I think if Carly Fiorina is on a national ticket, that would be really good for the Democrats because we showed in the worst year for Democrats and, I mean it, I beat her by one million votes. She blamed me for the recession, she blamed me for the fact that it was raining or that it wasn’t raining. And we just showed her record when she was at HP and how selfish she is as a human being,” Boxer said. “And for her to go after Hillary and claim that Hillary is saying, vote for me because I’m a woman, she can’t even prove that point.”
