12 Years of Pajamas Versus Goliath

It occurred to me that while our masthead has changed to PJ Media, we’re still referred to far and wide as “Pajamas” but some of our newer readers might not know how that name came about.

Once upon a time, long long ago, in a year called 2004, a then-respected nightly newscaster with CBS named Dan Rather stated something on TV as fact.  But it wasn’t a fact.  Bloggers called him on it, and proved that he was wrong, and in fact… the fact wasn’t a fact at all.

When challenged, a former producer of Rather stated that this was “an important moment, because you couldn’t have a starker contrast between the multiple layers of checks and balances, and a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas writing what he thinks,” as if what a writer was wearing could change reality.  Einstein worked in sweats, but somehow pajamas were déclassé. How could guys in their pajamas hope to challenge the professional fact checkers of CBS? From that comment, Pajamas Media, Pajamas for short, was formed.

It’s now 12 years later, and my how we’ve grown, but we’re still folks sitting at our home computers in our pajamas or sweats or … well I don’t want to even think about it.  But we’re still calling the main stream media on their errors. So with that introduction, here’s a wrap up of some of 2016’s worst MSM bloopers.
