John Kerry famously made his bones in the 1970s being anti-war. But global warming/climate change/climate chaos/whatever it’s called this week is, in his estimation, the moral equivalent of war. Which he attacked America for fighting in the manner of Genghis Khan*:
Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) delivered what his office termed a “major address” in the Senate yesterday. Kerry used that address to argue that “climate change” is every bit as much of a threat as the Iranian mullahcracy’s drive to obtain nuclear weapons and long-range missiles to deliver them.
“I believe that the situation we face, Mr. President, is as dangerous as any of the sort of real crises that we talk about – today we had a hearing in the Foreign Relations Committee on the subject of Syria, and we all know what’s happening with respect to Iran, and nuclear weapons and the possibility even of a war,”
“Well, this issue actually is of as significant a level of importance, because it affects life itself on the planet,” he said.
As the Professor likes to say, I’ll believe there’s a crisis when the people who tell me there’s a crisis begin to act like there’s a crisis.** As I wrote a month ago when Kerry went into Harry Reid mode and shouted, “Frankly, those who look for any excuse to continue challenging the science have a fundamental responsibility that they have never fulfilled: Prove us wrong or stand down,” if Kerry has given up his private plane or sold his yacht and mansions to reduce his enormous carbon footprint, there’s no word of this development on Google.
Put your money carbon footprint where your mouth is or stand down, Senator.
