Savannah Guthrie of the Today show was hammered by left-wing trolls on Twitter Tuesday after announcing that the show would be airing an interview with Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann, the left’s latest recipient of the Emanuel Goldstein two-minutes-of-hate treatment.

Lefties on Twitter are convinced that the 16-year-old Sandmann bullied longtime Native American activist Nathan Phillips because he had a smile on his face while Phillips loudly banged on a drum and chanted in his face.
“What about Nathan Phillips???” many Twitter users asked. “Why doesn’t TODAY interview him???”
Well, for one thing, Phillips has already been all over the place peddling his false narrative to multiple news outlets.
Phillips told the Washington Post that the students formed a mob around him while he was marching and chanting peacefully. “It was getting ugly, and I was thinking: ‘I’ve got to find myself an exit out of this situation and finish my song at the Lincoln Memorial,’” Phillips said. “I started going that way, and that guy in the hat stood in my way, and we were at an impasse. He just blocked my way and wouldn’t allow me to retreat.”
His story evolved after a complete video emerged showing him walking freely into the throng of teens, who had gathered at the Lincoln Memorial to wait for their bus back to Kentucky after the March for Life on Friday.
Phillips then said that he approached the teenagers as they “were in the process of attacking these four black individuals” and he was just trying to de-escalate the situation.
He added: “There was that moment when I realized I’ve put myself between beast and prey. These young men were beastly and these old black individuals was their prey, and I stood in between them and so they needed their pounds of flesh and they were looking at me for that.”
The black separatists had actually shouted profanities at the boys, calling them names such as “cracker,” “faggot,” and “pedophile,” and singled out a black student for abuse, saying he was a “n*gger” who was going to be murdered and have his organs harvested by the white kids.
In response, the boys sang their school songs to drown out the abusive taunts being hurled at them.
“I never interacted with this protester. I did not speak to him. I did not make any hand gestures or other aggressive moves. To be honest, I was startled and confused as to why he had approached me,” Sandmann said in a statement released his family.
Now, one media outlet is finally allowing the kid to tell his side of the story on the air Wednesday.
Sandmann told Guthrie that he didn’t think he owed Phillips an apology because he didn’t feel like he did anything wrong. “As far as standing there, I had every right to do so,” Sandmann said. “My position is I was not disrespectful to Mr. Phillips. I respect him.”
The left’s response to any attempt at fair treatment is HOW DARE THEY. They are “normalizing” Trump supporters and we can’t have that!
“Keep normalizing these idiots. Good work,” wrote @RogueSNRadvisor
Another user had a list of demands for Today:
We expect full and complete disclosure of any parameters placed on the interview.
– Limitations on questions
– Interventions by Sandmann's parents/PR team
– Segments un-aired and reasoning
– Efforts made to corroborate claims
– Plans to air opposing perspectives— The Hoarse Whisperer (@HoarseWisperer) January 22, 2019
Other lefties, like Little Green Football’s Charles Johnson, seemed to think there was something darkly conspiratorial about the fact that the teen, who has been smeared by virtually every media outlet in America, would need the assistance of a crisis communications firm.
Everyone should be aware that this kid is being heavily promoted by a very high-powered GOP-linked PR firm whose founder is a CNN contributor – RunSwitch.

This woman expressed her great disappointment in Today for not hosting “THE REAL VICTIM.”
You just permanently lost me as a viewer. YOU ARE TAKING THE WRONG SIDE. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL THE EVIDENCE & THEN INVITE THE REAL VICTIM.
I can't find the words to tell you HOW COMPLETELY & TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED I AM IN YOU FOR THIS.@NBC @MSNBC @Maddow @MaddowBlog

Russia conspiracy theorist Eric Garland put the pro-life teen in the same company as alt-right symbol Pepe the Frog, white supremacist mass murderer Dylann Roof, and Fentanyl traffickers.
Do you think Pepe the Frog is available for Thursday’s show? Can Dylann Roof do a segment from prison? Heart-to-heart with some Fentanyl traffickers?

Hey, I have a segment idea for you: “The Human Side of Human Traffickers – Taking Millions On New Adventures!”
Ask Trump or any Mobster – they’ll get experts who do “great TV.”

He went on to compare Sandmann to psycho-killer Adam Lanza, who fatally shot 20 children between six and seven years old at Sandy Hook Elementary in December of 2012.
Ooh, this could work for your “show.”

Garland, who claims to be a “strategic intelligence analyst for corporations and governments,” has a large following on Twitter, as evidenced by the thousands of likes and retweets his brain farts get.
However, GQ in 2017 honored Garland, along with Seth Abramson and Louise Mensch, as one of the least influential people of the year.
These are the serial tweetstormers who show up any time something Russia-related happens to Trump, and then they act as if they have all the top-secret info to BLOW THIS WHOLE THING WIDE OPEN. They are…not reliable.
To say the least.
You think this is a game? I would go to my death THIS INSTANT for the women I have sworn to protect. Explain to me your values. Now.
