Federal agents have searched five states in an effort to track down Shawn Christy, 27, of McAdoo, Pa., who is accused of threatening to shoot President Trump in the head in a now-deleted post on social media. Christy is also wanted on several arrest warrants in Pennsylvania, “including burglary, violating probation, and failing to appear in court for an aggravated assault case.”

Christy and his father have a history of harassing former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family beginning in the summer of 2009.

“There’s a level of obsession here that elevates the conduct from merely creepy to truly threatening,” Assistant U.S. Attorney John Gallagher reportedly said of the father and son in 2011.

A complete timeline of Christy’s extensive history of harassment is here.

The reward for his capture is $20,000.

U.S. Marshal Deputy Robert Clark urged Christy to turn himself in: “Go to the local or state police and turn yourself in,” he said.

The manhunt on Tuesday was focused in Rush Township, Pa., after police found a truck he stole parked at a business there.

Authorities urged residents in the area to be vigilant and keep an eye out for anything suspicious around their properties.

Officials told the public that if they see Shawn Christy they should not approach him because “he is considered armed and dangerous.” Christy allegedly threatened to use “full lethal force on any law enforcement officer” attempting to detain him.

On Monday, the U.S. Marshals Service linked Christy to the theft of a ’97 GMS Sierra pickup truck with a Pennsylvania license plate. It is believed to be at least the third vehicle stolen by the fugitive while on the run. Christy is also believed to have stolen a U.S. Postal Service Jeep in Kentucky a few weeks ago.

Additionally, U.S. Marshals believe Christy stole a school bus company van from a Pennsylvania bus company’s parking lot in early August.

Federal agents on Tuesday searched a hunting club property several miles away from Christy’s McAdoo home, where the manhunt began on June 19.

Deputy Clark said, “Mr. Christy does not need human contact. He is able to live in the woods, he’s very good at it.”
