Hillsdale College is well known for its principled stance against receiving government funding. The school and its president, Larry Arnn, have been featured across conservative media, from Rush Limbaugh and Hugh Hewitt fame. Now, the school has another source of notoreity — its college newspaper.
The Princeton Review released its list of the top 20 college newspapers, and Hillsdale’s The Collegian ranked number 9. The director of the college’s Dow Journalism Program, John J. Miller, tweeted congratulations to the guest teachers who have taught at Hillsdale over the years.

The list is a veritable “who’s who” of conservative media, including National Review‘s Jonah Goldberg, The Weekly Standard‘s Mark Hemingway, The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway, the Wall Street Journal‘s Kimberley Strassel, and the Washington Examiner‘s Tim Carney, among others.
According to The Princeton Review, the list was decided by students’ answers to the question, “How do you rate your campus newspaper?”
Hillsdale ranked above Yale University (number 13), Washington State University (number 17), the University of Florida (number 18), and the University of California — Santa Barbara (number 20). Columbia University (number 1), Brown University (number 3), Syracuse University (number 5), and Cornell University (number 8) all beat Hillsdale.
