She is a writer, filmmaker and manager. She was a top Equestrian and in training for the Olympics in show jumping. She comes from a democratic political family. Her great grandfather the Honorable William Gaston, former Boston Mayor and former Governor of Massachusetts, was a classmate of Theodore Roosevelt and Josiah Quincy. He studied law at Harvard Law School and later organized his own Boston firm of Gaston, Snow and Saltonstall. Her other relative Alexander Gaston was a lawyer, state legislator, United States representative, and North Carolina Supreme Court judge.
