The Palestinian Authority (PA) has not held elections in two decades, and it will not do so again. Anyone who believes there is democracy involved in the terrorist dictatorship of Gaza is suicidally stupid. Unfortunately, that group of suicidally stupid people includes the Canadian government that invested almost $1 million in a London firm preparing for the Palestinian election this year, which, predictably, PA President Mahmoud Abbas postponed.
Abbas tried to blame Israel, which is particularly ironic, since Israel gave Gaza to the so-called Palestinians and has facilitated massive amounts of aid there, proving that the Israelis care a lot more about Palestinians than Hamas and the PA do. The reality is that the PA only pretends there will someday be elections again in order to keep stringing along ignorant or evil Westerners like the Canadian government. For some reason, after 20 years, woke Westerners are still falling for the lie that the jihad-funding PA just wants democracy and freedom instead of the obliteration of Israel and a sharia dictatorship.

[Government entity] Global Affairs Canada signed a $989,714 contribution agreement on April 22, 2026 with Adam Smith International Ltd of London, England, to "foster electoral readiness, political participation, and democratic renewal in Palestine", according to the federal grants disclosure database.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who outrageously recognized the fictional state of Palestine to the joy of Hamas, looks like a ruddy fool because the election was one of the conditions for Carney recognizing “Palestinian statehood.” And it seems that Carney has no plan for punishing Abbas, or at least he hasn’t yet announced one publicly. Never reward Islamic Jihadis based on something they might or might not do in the future, because you will always end up with egg on your face. Not that the Canadian government is admitting its mistake. It is still claiming the elections could happen and bashing Israel.

Remember, Abbas is the protege of Yasser Arafat, the father of modern Jihad who invented the idea of a “Palestinian people” explicitly to justify genocidal war on Israelis. And Arafat learned from Hitler’s ally the Grand Mufti. The PA lavishly rewarded the October 7 terrorists and countless other jihadis in the last few years. For nearly a century, these terrorists in an unbroken line have represented tyranny, genocide, exploitation, and land theft, but never have they stood for democracy. The majority of Palestinians still support Jihad, because that is all they are taught in school and at mosques from the time they are toddlers.
For 1400 years, Islam has stood for the same mass murdering conquest ethic. To be a devout Muslim, one has to believe that it is one’s duty to oppress and kill Jews and Christians — its sacred texts say so, and Mohammed himself slaughtered Jewish tribes. A devout Muslim also has to believe in the laudable nature of lying to the infidels (see taqiyya), which explains why the PA and other terrorist entities keep making promises to Western governments they never intended to keep.
