The state of Israel’s foreign ministry is rightly demanding an apology from CNN over an anchor’s outrageous report falsely smearing the country.
Due to repeated Iranian missile attacks on Old City Jerusalem that almost hit the Western Wall of the last Jewish Temple and the Al Aqsa mosque compound, and that did hit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, all three sites remain closed to worshipers. Obviously, the Israeli government is trying to prevent a mass casualty event. Normally, Israel is the only country in the Middle East with freedom of worship for all religions, and the only reason there are restrictions now is because of the high risk of death. All of that would have been very useful information for a CNN anchor to share before he griped about the church and the mosque being closed, and then lied blatantly about the Jewish site being open.
The hoopla began as CNN anchor and chief national security analyst Jim Sciutto solemnly announced on X, as if it were shocking news instead of a reality ongoing for weeks due to Iranian missile attacks, “On this Easter Sunday in the Old City, sadly no access for worshippers to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.” This supposed champion of Christian worship went on to mourn, “All access to the Al Aqsa Mosque has been blocked for Muslim worshippers since the start of the war.”

By the way, as someone who has been to the Western Wall, I noticed right away that the picture was not of people standing at the wall. They are clearly standing on a balcony with the rim of the wall visible in the distance. In other words, anyone who has been to Jerusalem or has seen pictures of the Jewish holy site would know immediately this is fake news. That is how pathetic and obvious CNN propaganda is.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry quickly fired back, debunking the blatantly false report and providing a photo of the Western Wall as it is now, namely, empty. “The pictures you’ve shown are not from the Western Wall. The Western Wall as shown in this picture is closed to all worshippers,” the ministry furiously clarified. “@jimsciutto @CNN We demand that you correct the article and publish an apology for the misleading report.”
This is a false post and a false report by @jimsciutto @cnn designed to present a twisted and misleading picture.

There is no discrimination between religions.
The safety instructions are intended to protect worshippers of all faiths from Iranian missiles, which have already… https://t.co/QaqeDUR1xE pic.twitter.com/RSxjpnyNzX
Jews cannot access the Western Wall during Passover any more than Christians could access the Holy Sepulchre during Easter. The government of Israel is not discriminating against Muslims and Christians. It is trying to save the lives of citizens regardless of what faith they profess.
But Sciutto just wanted to make Israel look bad. Like the rest of CNN, he didn’t care what the truth was. Ironically, I found a post he put on X during the era of Biden administration COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Sciutto was furious that a Catholic parent took his family to Mass, even though none of them were vaccinated. According to Sciutto at the time, this was a very dangerous move. So apparently he thinks it is too dangerous for people not vaccinated against a virus with a 99% survival rate to attend church, but not too dangerous for people to attend church at a location repeatedly bombed by a terrorist regime?
What possible purpose does this serve? The vaccine saves lives, helps prevent hospitalization, helps protect the most vulnerable from infection. What’s to be gained other than making a point, that has been repeatedly shown to be self-destructive? https://t.co/qsgUAqOMYk

Ironically, also, the COVID-19 vaccines were not effective, as people who received them not only could contract the virus, but with some types were more likely to do so. Sciutto is clearly horrible at identifying reality.
Or rather, most pertinently, Sciutto is a raging hypocrite.
