New polling shown on CNN, of all places, completely wrecks multiple lies that Democrats have been telling about voter ID for years.
One of Democrats’ favorite arguments against voter ID is that it is supposedly racist, as if in America, only white people ever get IDs. (This is particularly ironic, considering how many illegal aliens get IDs fraudulently thanks to Democrats.) Another Democrat lie is that requiring voter ID is unpopular, especially among minorities. And finally, of course, Democrats allege voter ID is not necessary, because despite more than a century and a half of egregious fraud on their behalf, they are still pretending they don’t interfere with elections.
All of this propaganda on voter ID is false, as Democrat talking points always are to a greater or lesser extent, and it is deliciously satisfying that CNN accidentally helped explode the narrative. Recent polling from Pew shown on CNN shows that not only do the overwhelming majority of Americans support requiring voter ID to cast ballots, but even a large majority of black voters support it.

As a reminder, around 80% of black voters in the 2024 election voted for Kamala Harris. This is the Democrats’ loyal base expressing views completely at variance with the Democrat narrative.
The poll data comes, of course, amid ongoing controversy over the SAVE Act, which “requires individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections,” according to its official Congressional summary. While the U.S. House of Representatives already passed the legislation, the Senate — run by RINOs as it is — has yet to do so. But if Republicans were looking for an easy way to pass legislation popular with people across the political spectrum this midterm year, this is definitely that piece of legislation.

The woke Brennan Center for Justice hysterically asserted this week, “The ‘show your papers’ requirement is an attack on the freedom to vote.” The claim is that 21 million Americans do not have easy access to the requisite documents. But the point I want to emphasize here is that the Brennan Center labeled the SAVE Act “unpopular.” Apparently, they forgot to consult with actual voters on that. As an amusing note, the Brennan Center seems to believe it is almost impossible for many women in America to get their IDs updated with their married names. Isn’t it funny how leftists always claim to be for women and minorities and yet always talk as if they despise women and minorities for being stupid?
NAACP President Derrick Johnson was similarly overwrought last year about the SAVE Act, claiming it would be a catastrophe for married women and black voters. But most voters know better — that they can, in fact, obtain IDs, despite the condescending paternalism of the Democrat Party.
At the end of last month, the FBI raided Fulton County’s election facility to take charge of potentially fraudulent 2020 ballots. In Minneapolis, Democrats could lose a congressional seat in the next Census through the loss of a significant number of illegal alien residents to deportation.
These two facts are connected to each other and to this story by the reality that Democrats are not opposed to voter ID because it is racist or sexist or unpopular. They are opposed to voter ID because it makes elections more honest and prevents illegal aliens and repeat ballot casters from voting.
