533 Years Since the Reconquista, and Muslims Are Taking Over Europe

On this date — Jan. 2 — in 1492, the Spanish Catholic monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella captured Granada and received the surrender of King Boabdil, marking the end of eight centuries of Christian reconquest from Muslim invasion. Now, more than 530 years later, the Muslims are retaking not only Spain, but most of Europe.

Queen Isabella remains a controversial figure for her unjust and harsh treatment of Jews, but it cannot be denied that she was right to pour resources and men into the Reconquista from Muslims who had for centuries become entrenched in Spain. While some modern Westerners are entranced by the beautiful architecture remaining from Muslim Granada and other cities, life under Muslim rule in Spain was full of many of the horrors of sharia, which still exist in over 50 countries. That included, of course, persecution of Christians, and many are the Spanish martyrs in the Catholic calendar of saints from those eight centuries of Muslim rule.

Islamic texts explicitly endorse jihad, rape, domestic abuse, sex slavery, honor killings, child marriage, and other evils. As imperfect as the Spanish Catholic kingdom of the 15th century was, it was as night and day a difference from Islamic rule, simply because the underlying moral principles of the two religions were so opposite. And because of Ferdinand and Isabella, the Gospel came to a New World as well, carried by Christopher Columbus to the pagan Americas.

What is so tragic is that woke Spaniards and other Europeans are squandering the heritage of the Reconquista. There are many citizens of Spain, Britain, Ireland, and other European nations who are furious about how their countries are being conquered, but unfortunately, they have little influence over their governments (God bless our Founders for rejecting monarchy and parliamentary systems).

The Muslim hordes have returned. The impacts are multitudinous, but I think looking at the rape rate alone in several nations illustrates the massive societal upheaval caused by illegal immigration. Newsrael alleges that Muslims have raped more women in Europe than in Rwanda and Yugoslavia during the conflicts in those countries. The European Conservative added enlightening statistics:

Germany, one of the countries hardest hit by the 2015 migration crisis, reported 11,500 rape cases in 2022, with an alarming 40% of perpetrators of Syrian, Afghan or Iraqi origin.

In the UK, the crisis of sexual assault by migrant gangs has been particularly shocking. The Rotherham scandal, where at least 1,400 girls were abused by organized groups of Pakistani, Kurdish, and Kosovar origin between 1997 and 2013, exposed the inaction of the authorities for fear of being accused of racism. In 2022, 70,000 rape complaints were recorded (191 complaints per day), 25% more than in 2021.

Rape rates are much higher in Sweden and the UK than in Poland. Coincidentally, Poland also shut its borders to the Muslim migrants who poured into the other countries.

Between 2010 and 2016 alone, the Muslim population of Europe went up by more than six million, per Pew Research. Germany and France were among the top ten countries for Muslim migration worldwide as of 2020. As of last year, Islam was the fastest-growing global religion. Europeans are not having large families, but Muslim migrants are. Westerners are becoming less religious as Muslims increase their fervor for global jihad.

Europe — indeed, the entire West — needs a new Reconquista.
