Jeremiah Wright's Chickens Come Home...to ROOST

The daughter of Barack Obama’s former (?) pastor, Jeremiah Wright, has been busted and indicted.

Jeri L. Wright, 47, the daughter of Jeremiah Wright, was accused of participating in a fraud scheme led by a former suburban police chief and the chief’s husband that involved a $1.25 million state grant, according to the Attorney’s office for the Central District of Illinois in Springfield.

Wright, of the Chicago suburb of Hazel Crest, was charged with two counts of money laundering, two counts of making false statements to federal officers, and seven counts of giving false testimony to a grand jury.

The state grant was for a not-for-profit work and education program called We Are Our Brother’s Keeper, owned by Regina Evans, former police chief of Country Club Hills, and her husband, Ronald W. Evans, Jr.

When she was arrested, Wright said “I thought this was just how we do things in Chicago.”

I may have made that quote up out of thin air. Though it is how they do things in Chicago. And Detroit. And pretty much everywhere Democrats rule.

Just look at who’s involved in this thing, and what they were doing. You have the daughter of a prominent racist preacher, a former police chief and her husband, defrauding the state, which means robbing taxpayers under the guise of job training. A certain sense of entitlement permeates this scheme, does it not?

And the capper — the program riffed on one of Barack Obama’s favorite lines — We Are Our Brother’s Keeper. It should really say We Are Our Brother’s Money’s Keeper. They care a whole lot less about their brother than they care about what in their brother’s wallet, and how they can pry that wallet out of his pocket.
